I'm playing Banner Saga: Factions and so can you!

Free-to-play strategy RPG The Banner Saga: Factions is now available on Steam for PC and Mac. For those not keeping up with the Kickstarter-turned-actual-release-that-didn't-take-peoples'-money-and-run-away-to-Mexico title, Factions is a free multiplayer focused bite of what's to come from the commercially released singleplayer-focused title.

I checked out Factions last fall and came away with a positive impression. I'm looking forward to jumping into the game tonight, after missing the beta. Regardless of how it shapes up, I have to applaud developer Stoic for embracing such a progressive and fair approach to promoting its upcoming commercial release. Releasing a free multiplayer slice of their title is a great way to promote the game and win over fans.

"We've pretty much designed a game that you never need to pay a cent for, truly and honestly," creative director Alex Thomas wrote in an email. "We've probably screwed ourselves. In the meantime, work continues heavily on the single player campaign."

You can find me online, tonight and probably many nights to come. Add me on Steam: lonelyspacepanda

To dye for: Invisible Inc. is my kind of strategy-stealth game

A chasm in stealth games tends to be player skill and the supposed skills of super sleuth avatars. You're often eased into the situation, your lack of skill assumed, or you just fumble your way through -- especially with the ...more
