I'm a shark! LittleBigPlanet DLC costumes hitting PS Store tomorrow photo

Media Molecule has announced a slew of upcoming downloadable costumes for LittleBigPlanet and the bad news is that they're not all free. Only one costume will come gratis, with the others running you anywhere from $.99 to $2.99 for a pack.

Below is the full list; you can see what they look like by heading over to Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet blog. (Dare I call it "LittleBlogPlanet"?)

  • Sack-Eating Plant (FREE)
  • Lilly Pad ($.99)
  • Hugo ($.99)
  • Great Blue ($.99)
  • Frost-E ($.99)
  • Animals Costumes Pack ($2.99)
  • MotorStormer ($1.99)

So what's the good news? They're all so adorable, almost enough that I'm ready to give them my hard-earned money. That shark costume? I'm not even a shark-fanatic like our very own CTZ, but even I may not be able to resist. It's so cute, I just wanna pinch its freakin' little shark cheeks.

The costumes will be available with the Thursday, November 13 PlayStation Store update.

I must admit those costumes look pretty awesome. The Sack Eating Plant looks really good and it being free makes it all the better. The Motorstormer looks pretty good but hands down the shark is my favourite.

Even though I don't own LBP (or a ps3 for the matter), I am finding these costumes pretty entertaining to look at. I can't wait to see what MM delivers next.

We've had the MotorStormer for a week at $4 (it's just a motocross helmet with facemask like in the logo), so expect the others to be twice as expensive as this in Europe.

3 dollars for 4 extra costumes?

Anyone who has LBP knows that costumes aren't just horse armor in this game, even though by all rights, they should be.

So I'll be goddamned if these don't sell well.

Still waiting on that Helghast business...

Companies looking to make money off of DLC? NO WAY MAN! The horror, the horror. Yes I don't like paying as much as the next guy, but $.99 isn't that bad. Better than $2 or $5 each.

Assuming the shark is like a hat, you could combine it with Old Snake's face and Sepiroth's coat and just be a walking bunch of amazing.

So the other day EA got a lot of flack from commentors, including myself, because they were going to offer new weapon and armor skins for Dead Space. I wonder if Sony will get a lot of flack for doing the same here?

I am totally buying the motorstormer. Love that game, and have yet to buy motorstorm 2 cause im still too busy with resistance 2, lbp and deadspace!

So I will buy the mototstormer costume in preparation for the game, which I plan to pick up some time next month.

All the 0ther ones are cute and my partner will probably make me get them. SHE LOVES DUH ANIMALS!

Spending $2 is easy, might pick a couple of these up as if my GF finds one she likes....

Dont buy that coffee or muffin one day and your good to go.

The plant one deserves it spot as the winner. I can't wait to see the other two winners. I will download that one ASAP.

The fucked up thing is if I want my fiance to be able to use them too then I have to buy it twice. That would almost be acceptable if she was say a friend that lived in another house, with another purchased copy of the game, but to make me pay for it twice to download and use it on the same console is total bullshit.

@smerff - have you downloaded the free costumes from the PS Store? If so, can they be used under 2 different user names even though you only downloaded under yours?

Just curious, cause I'm wondering if you are getting cranking for nothing. I don't have LBP myself so I can't test this theory yet. Try it out and let me know, my wife likes this game (the beta) too and we'd be affected by it too once I get it.

@smerff:

I think you're wrong, you can usually use anything you download on any log in on the PS3.

But if not, you can log into your PSN account on her user name on the PS3 and download it again for free.
