I'd kill a baby krogan for Mass Effect 2's "Blood Dragon Armor" DLC. There. I said it. Since I'm not willing to run out and buy a new copy of Dragon Age: Origins or get a used copy of the game and fork over $10 for a redeemable code, I have to resort to such acts of violence.

Don't get me wrong, the armor looks good in Dragon Age. But the extra splash of sci-fi flavor added to the outfit for Mass Effect 2 really went a long way. Plus, your clothing options for the game are super limited unless you went out and pre-ordered ME2 at multiple retailers.

What are you thinking? Will this replace your current digs?

I too hate the fact that I can't take off the helmet.

It's a bit odd how I'm kissing Liara through a sharp metal helmet.

Anyway, I got a Blood Dragon code since someone traded in Dragon Age with the code intact. I was lucky enough to swipe the code without having to buy the game. The Collector Armor was pretty decent as well with a regen boost, but made you look like a giant tumor. And I got the Inferno armor at Gamecrazy, which almost makes me look like Iron Man (women?).

funny how they show the PS3 version of DO too....could this be a hint that ME2 is indeed PS3 Bound?

@Dreamweaver

With any armor other than the standard, you can't change it.

Sucks too, the standard armor gives you patterns, colors, helmet choices, different pieces and all. The DLC armors are stuck the way they come.

The PS3 DA:O Blood Armor that came with the game doesn't have a PS3 code, so no. Otherwise, everyone would've confirmed ME2 for PS3 a long time ago.

Were you under a rock all this time?

Actually the Blood Dragon Code is tied to your EA account. So you could conceivably have the DA:O PC or PS3 game and get the armor on your 360. That's how I did it, I bought DA:O from Steam. Activated my keys at the social.bioware.com site and when I first started up Mass Effect 2 on my 360, it knew right away that I had the Blood Armor DLC waiting on me.

Anyone who pre-purchased the steam verison of ME2 and already owned Dragon Age (me) got every bit of dlc. :)
The icying on the cake? it was still half the price of what I'd have had to pay for the aussie retail version.

I do have a Blood Armor code from my DA copy, but I never used it because I was one of the few lucky ones to get all the DLC free off of XBL before they took it down. I have the Inferno Armor, Terminus, Collector's, etc. Inferno armor is butt ass ugly. My favorite is the Collector, but the Blood Armor is still pretty badass.

Also, Incisor Sniper Rifle. <3

At this point, I just want a way to get that Incisor Sniper Rifle on 360. They really need to offer a way for console users to get that item without having to buy the game again on PC.

I'd love this, but there's no way I'm getting DAO until I finish ME2, making the bonus pointless.

@ Necros

I have it on my 360. It's good (shoots in a 3-burst like an M16) but consumes ammo rapidly, so I prefer the Viper. I don't like the Widow or whatever it's called. Powerful but too slow.

I'm really very dissappointed with the onus armor, both thte terminus and the Blood Dragon, especialyl because there is absolutely no customization. The least I'd want is to take the helmet off. But mixing in that stuff with my standard armo configurations? THAT would be awesome!

Ah well. The black hole fun is killer.

Now, I preordered both Dragon age and Mass effect. I found myself with no urge to use the DLC armor for one reason. You cannot see Shepard's face. My Shepard is the spitting image of Bruce Willis and I intend on enjoying the cinematic aspects of the game right down to the facial expressions. If only the helmets came off during conversation.

Fun fact! Purchasing the ps3 version of Dragon Age and redeeming Blood Dragon that way, still unlocks it in Mass Effect 2! I was pleasantly surprised by this fact.

Let me echo the sentiments of others here and say that I'm disappointed that your helmet is perma-on when you wear it. Sure, you can see Shepard's face when he's talking to people on ship, but I want to see Shepard's face in dialogue while on missions, too. I figure I'll use it when I go through it with my asshole version of Shepard later on...it looks pretty badass, and he would be the kind of dude to not show his face, anyway.

I got it when I bought DAO a while back. It looks nice and it's useful early on, but it obviously gets trumped later on.

Now, I would kill for all that Terminus, Black Hole Gun business.....

Eh, I swiped all of the armors/guns/hood etc. when they posted them early on Live, and the coolest looking items are easily the Terminus armor and the recon hood. The Collectors rifle is a beast, and obviously the "black hole" gun is amazing. I thought the Blood Dragon armor just looked out of place and silly, same with the Collectors.

Also, I second that the non-removable helmet thing is ass; you could remove it in the first, so why not the second? It bugged me enough that I just started using conventional armors with the freaky blue space glasses so I could see my face and not look retarded while pounding down drinks at The Afterlife and tongue wrestling Asaris. 'Tis a shame, as I really loved my Terminus armor. Such a brilliant fucking game though, god I love it so much.

I actually just started ME2, and I put the armor on. It looks a little goofy, but strangely awesome. I do wish you could take the helmet off though.
If you REALLY want it, here is what you can do.
Go to Gamestop. They have lots of new copies on the shelves, opened, that they don't sell. In these they have the code. Go to a store associate and ask if you can take the code out from the new, opened (but unsellable) copy on the shelf. Nine times out of ten they'll say it's ok (that's how I got most of my RB2 track packs, actually; they just let me copy down the code). They end up selling those copies used anyway.
Blam, you have a code. You might want to take more then one, in case somebody else gets the same idea, but the point still stands.
Hell, I'll go ask my local Gamestop for you and mail it to you if you want. The guys in the mall by my house are really nice.
Also, before somebody complains, they sell those pre-opened copies USED, so they aren't shafting any future customer.

You don't want that armor.
All the DLC armor is pretty shit compared to the N7 armor, there's 0 customization and the helmet can't be removed.

It wouldn't be so stupid if DA:O was half as good as everyone kept telling me it was. :/

As Kaspar said N7 is the way to go. With the RPG elements being toned down so much armor barely matters anymore. A few upgrades here and there and you're good.

I have Dragon Age already and wore this armor my entire ME2 playthrough (yeah I beat it already thanks to the blizzard we had this past weekend here in VA). It's kind of crazy how in Dragon Age, the Blood Dragon armor is just ok for mid-levels but in Mass Effect 2 it's the most badass (at least for my character it was)

Grunt is technically a Krogan baby. He would beat your face in.

The special armors are not worth it imo. Much cooler to custom tailor your armor the way you want it (mixing, adjusting colors, patters, multiple stat boosts, etc) than have that one armor that doesn't show your face and you can't customize to look the way you want it.
