Hyrule Warriors: New screenshots and details photo

Nintendo knows we're excited about Hyrule Warriors, the upcoming Wii U game that blends the action of Tecmo Koei's Dynasty Warriors with the characters of the Zelda games.

As for those "unexpected" playable characters, you were right: Hurulean Captain Impa makes her debut as a playable character with her huge sword. They're teasing that other characters will make an appearance, each with signature weapons and animations.

The first stage of the game is Hyrule Field, where Link must defend or reclaim areas by fighting hoards of enemies. Sorceress Cia is a new enemy, but old standbys like Bokoblins and Lizalfos will also make their appearance.

Be sure to check out the three super badass images in our gallery.

Hyrule Warriors' 'Master Quest' DLC is worth the price of entry if you're already addicted

Hyrule Warriors is a massive game. If you want to 100% everything, get every weapon, and max out every character, it could last you roughly 200 hours or more. I'm hitting the 100-hour mark myself, due in part to the new ...more

Wizzro looks like a must-play character in Hyrule Warriors

As I've said in the past, one of my favorite things about Hyrule Warriors is how different every character is. This new video showing off Wizzro exemplifies that fact, as he mostly operates at a mid-range capacity with ...more

My favorite part of Hyrule Warriors is not at all what I was expecting

I'm only several hours into Hyrule Warriors and while there's already a lot to like here, I think I've figured out what my favorite part of the game is: a song. Specifically, "Zelda's Lullaby." It has been featured prominent...more

Cucco's are still deadly in Hyrule Warriors

If you aren't familiar with the Zelda series, Cuccos are adorable little chickens who never attack the player character for any reason. Ok that's a lie, if you mess with a Cucco, you'll likely wind up dead, as they summ...more

Laser Fury looks like Diablo but neon and radical

I do not mean to suggest that Diablo is not good, but the dreary look never really grabbed me, even with Diablo III's improvements in that respect. Laser Fury, on the other hand, takes a hold of my eyes immediately...more
