There has been a measure of confusion regarding the release of Dark Energy Digital's promising new downloadable release, Hydrophobia. The water-themed action game has generally been regarded as an Xbox Live Arcade exclusive, but conflicting reports listed it for the PS3 and PC platforms also.
Hydrophobia, officially, a timed Xbox 360 exclusive. The game will hit XBLA first, with a subsequent PS3/PC release coming at a later date. So, that's all the confusion cleared up, and let us never speak of this issue again.
The game itself is looking pretty damn hot and I'm certainly looking forward to it. Are you? OH PLEASE TELL US IF YOU ARE!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Also, "Sonic Fanboy Mentality": The water is too blue and fluid. Needs shorter waves and more spray.
I haven't heard about this game in a long while, so it's good to hear it's still coming out. Not sure if it'll have my interest when it releases, but we'll see.
They are stupid, water is pretty cool.
I mean, I guess they technically mean the same thing, but they sure sound different, you know?
These days, "timed exclusive" normally refers to a company (Microsoft) somehow acquiring the rights to the content first (through monetary incentives, etc.). This doesn't sound like that to me.

Also, I'm hoping this is really good.
But 360 though... would be one of those games that would benefit hugely from the PC version, what with the extra horsepower needed for the complex water engine.
I guess we PS3 and PC people have to WADE a little for it...
Mwa ha ha !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hahahahaha!
There doesn't seem to be a demo to keep our interests afloat.
Looks like some people have voted h2NO to Hydrophobia.
I STILL need to borrow my firends XBox 360 for Mass Effect 2 and Alan Wake.
Anyway why are people hating on this, I for one think this is a new IP with some serious potential.
