Huxley: The Dystopia gets a new teaser site, we are teased photo

The press release for Huxley's new site begins with the phrase, "It's really happening," and I can't think of any other game where that phrase would be more fitting, outside of perhaps Duke Nukem Forever. This ambitious FPS MMO has been in development for roughly ten thousand years, but developer Webzen Games looks to be nearing closer to release, for real this time.

The site currently features a rather epic trailer that doesn't reveal an awful lot, but certainly looks pretty. The video eventually gives way to a countdown timer. Apparently, once the timer runs out, the second phase of the site will open, bringing a lot more information with it.

We'll sit tight and give you that information as and when it drops. In the meantime, who is still interested in this game?

IRVINE, CALIF. – April 23, 2009 –It’s really happening. The first online twitch-action massively multi-player online first-person shooter (MMOFPS), Huxley: The Dystopia, is highlighting the approach of its highly-anticipated launch with the release of a teaser Web site for the game. NHN USA, a subsidiary of NHN (KOSDAQ:035420), the largest Korean Internet company, has just opened up a portion of ijji.com to showcase Huxley: The Dystopia providing tidbits from the game and eventually serve as a home to the triple-A title. Included on the site is a trailer-style video, a clock counting down to a second phase of the site. When the time in the countdown expires, the background of the site will animate, marking the unveiling of more content and information on the game.

“We are just as excited as our community that Huxley: The Dystopia is nearing its long-awaited launch in North America,” said Philip Yun, CEO, NHN USA, Inc. “We’ve put great effort into providing a game that uniquely merges the best from the FPS and MMO game genres, and we are eager to share the experience on ijji.com for millions of fans to enjoy.”

Huxley: The Dystopia is a powerful combination of massively multi-player online (MMO) game character development elements and the twitch-based fast-action gameplay of an Unreal Engine 3-based first person shooter (FPS). Players are thrust into a dynamic world of crisp graphics and realistic environments, where they align themselves with one of two races, Sapiens or Alternatives, in the battle to harness dwindling resources in a war-torn land. Game play is endlessly peppered with attacks from and against the Hybrid, a mysterious third group born of the two races.

The Huxley eager can check out the teaser Web site at http://huxley.ijji.com.

Huh. Maybe ijji is really going to get them to get this off the ground. I can't imagine Webzen has any money left to keep this up much longer anyway.

How boring. I mean really Webzen, those trailers and videos in the early years really pumped my blood. Now, not so much. I mean why so scarce in releasing some actualy game info or some videos detailing about the game? From what I see now, it's just a MMO unreal tournament game with upgradable equipment and weapons. I am not paying a monthly fee for that. Let's hope all those years in development help pay off development costs otherwise it's the axe for you.

Never knew it existed in the first place.

Lol it's coming out over Ijji? Well, probably appropriate, since it's about as much of an MMO as Gunz is.

Finally. Had heard nothing about this for ages. I'll be waiting for reviews, but the idea is interesting.

If this game can deliver the twitch shooter gameplay it purportedly has and delivers on HALF of the customization options, it will be a must-buy for me. Can't wait.
