Huxley delayed until 2009. In other news, Huxley still exists photo

Webzen's sci-fi MMOFPS Huxley has been in development since the Declaration of Independence was signed. This can be said without exaggeration. If you cast your mind back -- way back -- you may recall having once heard of this free-to-play FPS with an MMO flavor. It might take some real mind raking, however.

Now that you remember what Huxley is, you may now be told that the game has been delayed until 2009. Nope, I wasn't aware it was due to launch in the next two months either, but apparently it was. So basically, the gist of this article is that something you did not know is happening is now not going to happen. Hard. Hitting. Videogame. News. Bitches.

The reason for the delay is apparently due to localization. The game has been in open beta within Korea for a few months, but the US has, so far, seen nothing.

I remember once being really interested in this game. I have nothing further to add to that thought.

Wait by Huxley, do they mean Aldous Huxley, the guy who wrote A Brave New World?

By SuperD1984 do you mean a troll that was born in 1984?

Benjaxez:

I believe there is a deliberate connection there, yes.

I was excited about this game once too. I saw a video of the developer showing off one of the towns, and I was impressed... but then he went into a door... into one of these things called an "instance", typical death-match style play in a small arena.

I then became unexcited.

Deathmatches are fine I guess, but they better be just as polished as the Call of Duty's and Halos out there. Otherwise, whats the point? If they surprise me with solid gameplay,I will check it out.

Didn't Huxley have a guy in it that was kind of orange? That's all I remember.

I like the idea of having a bot take over for you when your not there and mimicking your skills to gain more exp while your away. That's actually probably the feature that I was most excited about. Wasn't this supposedly coming to the 360?

Huxley has to be the worst "trying to sound serious" name for a MMO.

I was just thinking about this game the other day. Cool. But, most likely, a flop.

I remember being pretty psyched when Huxley was announced back in the day. Funny, I had completely forgotten about it until now.

I guess I will wait for the review, eh?

I don't see how it will have anything to do with Brave New World considering the setting, but hey, Eastern developed games are all over the place when ripping stuff off anyway.

I was pretty excited for Huxley when it was first announced, but heard nothing of it for so long that I assumed it got canceled. Good to know it still exists.

I was really anticipating this game and was really wondering wtf happened to it. Glad to see it is just delayed but let us hope it does eventually come out.

This game is still alive you know. It's a free-to-play MMOFPS here in Korea. I actually think it's kind of fun, or at least when I can understand the Korean in the game.

I think this game looks sweet. An FPS MMO with massive amounts of gun and armor customization? Sign me up! Whenever... ya know... sign ups are... and all.
