We all knew it was happening, didn't we? A premium version of Hulu is coming soon to a bunch of devices, including Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. For $9.99 a month, you're getting a number of full seasons (over 120, to start) in high definition versus a handful of trailing episodes from the current, free Hulu.
You can read more about Hulu Plus here, and also here in blog post form. They're currently letting users submit a request for a preview invite, so make sure to sign up if this service sounds like something you want to take advantage of.
Oh, I almost forgot! Perhaps most important of all, Hulu Plus will be available for PlayStation 3 in July and Xbox 360 in "early 2011." Who's interested?

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Pent up anger? lol
Fair point though.
Why would someone pay for Hulu when you can just visit on the computer and watch 3 30 second ads and not pay for it?
I hate getting all interested, then finding out the usual "not available in Canada" thing.
If they can fix the Subbed/Dubbed listings in Hulu TV, that would be great.
They probably won't though, but it'll be magically available to Hulu Plus subs. 720p streaming is nice....
I'll definitely follow this one...

A lot of the people in these comments are shortsighted, and can't see a reason for this beyond their own realm of perception. My wife and I canceled cable because we were paying $60/month for only a few shows, most of which are available on Hulu. With this Hulu+ plan, we'll be able to watch the shows on our living room TV instead of a computer in another room of the house.
Are U.S. TV shows that big over there?
I just figured you guys had your own stuff.
People, get angry at the company(ies) not at the person writing the story or in the story's comments.
Also, if it makes you people outside the US feel any better, the only reason video-streaming services are US-Only is because in this country we have a proper legal system that is very anal and restricts and prohibits everything to the point where anything is punishable. The MPAA/RIAA/etc don't want to be in other countries because other countries don't come down hard on people like the US does.
If that didn't make any sense, I blame Dtoid Mobile's tiny text window for not letting me see my entire comment in hopes to edit the ranting to a minimum.
In all seriousness though, I stopped paying for Cable(TV) a few years ago because it was about $150/Month. But for $140 LESS a month, this might not be a bad idea.
To those saying that this should be included in the cost of PSN+; Those of us XBL Gold Netflix members are smiling an evil smile at you right now. >:D
Not in Canada/ittybittyfont
We probably only get the most popular stuff from the USA but I at least watch Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, Big Bang Theory and a few others like that (which is why I'm bitter, since they all lag behind by at least six months here), and although I don't watch them, older sitcoms are popular as well as stuff like Two and a Half Men. We do get our own stuff, but aside from the odd gem from the Beeb or long running series' like Top Gear and the Gadget Show, it's mostly crappy phone-in talent shows and soaps. The quality of British TV at least has been declining for a long time, mostly due to Simon Cowell.
