Huh? DJ Hero and NASCAR together at last photo

In today's edition of "How is This News?," we have got a special report about a collaboration between NASCAR, Target, and DJ Hero. As seen above, Martin Truex Jr.'s No. 1 Chevrolet will have a game-themed paint scheme during Saturday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.

If you happen to be in the Charlotte, North Carolina area (why am I even asking?), the race will be happening at Lowe's Motor Speedway. But more importantly, you can check out DJ Hero -- it'll be playable -- at The Fan Midway which is within walking distance.

From 3:30 to 4:00 PM EDT, Truex Jr. will be attempting to keep the party alive with his DJ Hero skills at the very same place. Knowing how this sort of thing usually goes down, hilarity will almost certainly ensue.

This news is surely a chilling vision of things to come.

Or you can go to Best Buy and avoid the humiliation of being seen at a NASCAR event. Unless you're Into that sort of thing. No judgements.

They're totally missing their target market. No one who likes rap or electro watches NASCAR.

Yeah but people like my redneck uncle who like Guitar Hero drag kids to NASCAR events and will see the ''Hero'' and the fact the kids like it, buy it on the spot. ''North challenged'' people aren't the savvyest consumers.

Yeah, I totally don't get why they're treating it as an exclusive thing. I guess they figure all of the test units at Best Buy are busted, and the ones here won't be. Who knows.

Its a sporting event, it attracts advertisers just like any other type of popular sporting event. Lots of game promotion/advertising are done at sporting events. This is surprising to people?

I wouldn't drive down to Charlotte just to play DJ Hero, though. I became disinterested in the product the more talentless rappers they threw at it, I was hoping it was going to be about, you know, the DJs.

In the Air Canada Centre, they have a PS3 advertisement along the half-boards. And the Xbox 360 is the jersey sponsor for the Seattle Sounders.

Rap and NASCAR don't really mix. I'm not sure that the marketing team is spending there money wisely. I don't really mind though, I want DJ Hero to flop just to see Bobby boy squirm.

Dude it totally is.

It's...aww fuck it. There's no talking to people anymore. Do your own homework. Just know that you're wrong.

Growing up in the bay area, my exposure to NASCAR has been limited at best. I think they only have one race out here "at Infition/Sears Point, which is one of the more interesting, non-oval tracks"

I'm sure that there are some NASCAR fans that would be interested in DJ Hero. Still, I think I would just go to a friends house to check it out... I'm interested in seeing the game, but as with Rock Band and other music games, I have to play it first before I decide on a purchase if it's going to cost more than $100
