See that on the left. That's Travis Touchdown inhabiting the role of Francis in Left 4 Dead, as modded by DethKlan. DethKlan doesn't like Left 4 Dead 2, which is stupid, but they make an awesome mod, so they'll get a pass this time. You can download their work here.
Arguably even more fun is the mod on the right, which turns Team Fortress 2's Scout into a much sexier, stupider, maladjusted young man. The programmers at MechaWare really went all out on this one, creating a NMH-themed energy drink mod and baseball bat to go along with the Travis skin. All pretty awesome stuff. See video of it here, and grab the whole package here.
It would be great to see these mods sanctioned by Grasshopper and whoever (if anyone) brings No More Heroes to the PS3/360 in the USA and Europe. That way, they could given out as promotional DLC on the home console builds of L4D and TF 2. Travis Touchdown is a strange, unfamiliar figure to many PS3/360 owners, and getting to know him via these two very popular games could only work to raise consumer interest in the character.
I don't play L4D or Team Fortress 2 regularly, but if I had the option to play either of those games as Travis and the other killers from No More Heroes, I'd be tempted to rectify that situation.

Meet the rest of the team
"hat way, they could given out as promotional DLC on the home console builds of L4D and TF 2." Seriously, you have to be the biggest idiot I've ever seen. How exactly did you get a job?
It's idiotic because mods are user-created. Holmes is saying that once No more heroes comes out they should make this mod DLC for 360/PS3 users. Aside from L4D not even being on the PS3, mods aren't made by the developer and Valve wouldn't make DLC from a community made mod that advertises a completely different game.
As an enterprising modder myself, saying to use a mod as a possible DLC item in the future does not make any sense at all. If the creator of "No More Heroes" were to port their game to the X360/PS3, they would not use a modders port of their character in another developers game.
He says Grasshopper should give out Travis Touchdown skins for Valve games as promotional DLC. Last time I checked Left 4 Dead and TF2 aren't games like Little Big Planet where the entire game has customization as a main function. Valve has never promoted a skin for any of their characters, not even on PC, why would they let some outside company do that?
Well I just downloaded and tested. I got some issues like the sound clips a bit corrupted and Bad Girl's Bat is invisible for some reason, but everything else is fine
Seriously, that is incredibly stupid of you even to bring up as an idea. I'm talking about your entire 3rd paragraph. CowMuffins is right. That would practically NEVER happen, and for more reasons than he even brought up. And calling yourself a "dreamer" only makes you sound stupider. No offense, but that was just facepalm-worthy. Just shut up, Holmes. Please.
Yeah Monodi, grow so balls and agree with the other guys who are attacking me for practically no reason from the safety of their homes with absolutely no fear of retaliation.
It's a shame Deth "Drop the a 'n' swap C with a K, baby!" Klan have to hate on L4D2. Nick's V/O would have better suited Travis. Not that I would want to replace the best character in the game with a character I feel indifferent towards.
I'd say drop the ban hammer on the ragers.
if you can't communicate an idea without being an asshat, then maybe you should beat your children or something.
I knew about the TF2 skin, but I never saw the L4D one. I wish there were more suitable lines of NMH dialog so a soundpack could be made for Travis in these games
Fun fact: the guy who does Travis' voice also does the Medic.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Can't resist this.
And he hates you.
THE BEST WAY
Whoopie, so I forgot to copy the "T". Either way, it's quoted from your idiotic post.

Entirely hypothetical and light-hearted situations about videogames are pretty serious business, huh guys?
CowMuffins: Dream-killer and professional internet idiot-slayer.
That's called a cover-up. Nice try. Not buying it.
@ Jonathan Holmes
At least CowMuffins speaks the truth.
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEE
Okay I guess you missed that joke.

Because dreams are STUPID and NO ONE should EVER IMAGINE such things because its STUPID because I SAID SO.
How about you grow some balls and stop agreeing with Holmes just because he's on the Destructoid team.
That'd be a true sign of internet-courage.
Don't mess with internet nerds, though. They'll come hard and pissed.
I will grow more testicles than I need to make statements on things I do not agree because, well, I already have TF2 on PC so I don't care.
Na-na-na-na-nah!
if you can't communicate an idea without being an asshat, then maybe you should beat your children or something.
I'm downloading the Scout replacement NOW.
Thanks Holmes.
@ DustyBlue- No offense, but you're terrible at first impressions.
By the way, my name's Jonathan. Other than you calling me stupid and telling me to shut the up, it's nice to meet you.
