people, nay Customers, should not be forced to jump through hoops for what should have been a feature designed into the system.
Big fucking deal, get over it..... hopefully now that you've listed this, people will shut the fuck up... but they probably will just find something else to complain about.
If you switch accounts back and put your saves back on, do trophies still unlock?
Enh. It doesn't take away from your enjoyment of the system, and it is a problem. The PSP does it - the 3DS does it - most Apple products do it - it's expected, but that doesn't automatically make it good.
It would have been nice if Sony had been the first seamless portable game provider that did it. One day, someone will make it easy to hop on multiple accounts, and net tons of sales for it.
In light of your obnoxious and ignorant comment, I'm going to complain more frequently and louder about the Vita's minor shortcomings because you're an asshole.
@Dale
So once you've got two accounts created on the Vita, you have to connect it to a PC and do a system restore to reload the other account if you want to switch back and forth?
Also keep in mind that Sony, being the powerhouse provider they are, have multiple storefronts. On the PS3, I have multiple region accounts, but I actually purchase PSN Points for my Japanese account to buy some games in the JP region. It's really easy to do - I select my account, input the code, and buy the game.
I don't have to jump through hoops to give them [b]more money[b/].
So what you're sick of, if I understand you correctly, is people expressing concern over a problem that exists for them, because why now? These people figured they would have only one account, and for some this would indeed be considered an issue, and you are somehow inconvenienced by this?
Blowing things out of proportion happens on both sides of every issue, but somehow trivializing what most certainly would have been a legitimate issue for some people because you feel as though you are better for having not complained at all is ridiculous. Having not had a problem with something does not give you some vague moral high ground over those who do.
Anyway, I actually kinda like shit like this. Workarounds are fun, though I guess the everyday consumer would never really find out about them. I don't like the concept of having everything I do with a gaming system tied to some gamer card with trophies and all that who-gives-a-shit, but its good to know I can make a bunch of accounts for when I need em.
What ends up happening is Nintendo and MS's screw-ups quickly fade in time and we're left with Sony and a stinking pile of shit that just keeps getting bigger. It grew one little turd at a time and now its mountain - be it firmware updates, backing out of PS2 BC, reducing USB ports, taking away Other OS capability, changing how many downloadable games can be shared, the no-sue EULA change, proprietary memory, strange account restrictions, online passes, separating online passes from the digital purchase...
Getting a better picture now? Big pile of shit. By themselves perhaps not a big deal and yet they're joined by other "not a big deals" to go from a molehill to a towering mountain. And while this mountain of shit is taking things away, Nintendo and MS are adding value to their products.
Its not a good place to be going if you're Sony. All the good will they got from me on PS2 and PSP is dead and gone. I feel like paranoia has gotten the better of Sony and I'm no longer trusted as a paying customer.
At the end of the day while there's a workaround for the account issue, it something that boils down to something we should not have to do. Its a hassle for importers, even if it allows for imports.
Add another turd to the pile.
Nope, instead we need a workaround just to achieve what should be a really simple task.
If so, this is still not a good solution. Ah well. Ill just wait til the retarded thing has been out for a year.
A) Complain and bitch"
I love it when you use this one. Its so blatantly hypocritical that I have to believe you are trying your hardest to troll your little heart out.
I just can't believe you are as impetuous as most of your posts here would imply. You even bring up valid points, but you do it in a blanketed, asshole way that just makes no one want to take you seriously.
If you really wanna feed people here some humble pie, them maybe you should have a slice or two yourself first.
If your interwebs don't download the newest firmware update in 20 minutes or less THAT'S YOUR FUCKING FAULT!! You need to get faster shit like my parents got at my house!! And it DOESN'T happen everytime you turn on the PS3....unless you only use it every few months or so....but if that's all you're using it for then YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!
What the hell is wrong with people who want to play PS2 games?? It's almost 2012 people!! If I can't jerkoff to 50 frames-per-second MINIMUM than it's just not worth my time. PS2?!?! REALLY? Pssshhhh!! If you want to play an older game just find the HD version of it, dumbass. If you can't find it then YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!
I have 2 controllers, my headset and my pocketrock...errr PSP and don't have any problem with just 2 USB ports. So neither should anybody else because that's all you should ever need to play all the PS games you want just like me! And if it's not then YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!
And you have NO RIGHT to save $10 on a downloadable game by borrowing your friend's to try it out, NO RIGHT! But if I can save $10 by having the publishers separate the online pass in order to charge extra to you suckers than that's what I'm allowed to do!
And suing?! Listen, gaming nerds. You have absolutely NO RIGHTS WHATSOEVER because you're just a bunch of VIDEO GAME NERDS! These companies can post your credit card numbers at the corner bus stop if they want to! It's their right after YOU gave them the info in the first place! It's YOUR FAULT your information got stolen YOU MORONS! WHY CAN'T YOU SEE THAT!!
GAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! *head explodes*
I have tried switching memory cards but it says that the card is registered to another account and will need to be reformatted before you can use it. Bummer.
You're confusing security and software management concerns for "vita-bashing" which isnt the case. I play handhelds a lot between arduous studio sessions and office meetings. I want the vita on release but not at the expense of inconvenience...
Having to complete a 20 minute firmware update on a monday morning when i just want to transfer a game and get to work is an inconvenience. Waking up and having to make sure my internet connection is working just to transfer a fucking game is an inconvenience. Hoping I havent hit my bandwidth limit is an inconvenience. Having to re-purchase my old PSP games because theres no UMD option is an inconvenience. Proprietary memory is an expensive inconvenience. Paying for 2 worthless cameras that i'm never going to use on the PSV is an inconvenience. Having unknown data being sent to Sony HQ through the CM is a huge inconvenience, considering their security was completely ass-raped 6-7 months ago.
You and JQM78 arent the only humans on earth, you may be surprised to learn that there are a billion more and we all happen to live different lives. Just because your shoes fit, dont mean they'll fit on everyone else.
Wait, so if you switch accounts, your save data from your first account will work on the second? You can load all your games?
If this is the case, I'm going to blow my shit and reserve one of these right now.
Lol, ignorance is bliss afterall. "people live different lives than me?? Well then TLDR. Herp derp."
@wackytoshi
Uncanny imitation, you sounded just like a smug ignorant child.
@Scuffles Exactly. Why should we be forced to jump though hoops.
the whole changing accounts can be sped up from 5 mins to 2 by skipping the 3 min opening movie. Just force a shutdown by holding down on the power button. When you restart your Vita, you'll be at the home screen.
Has anyone found out if that would work?
