My question is why people need more than one account. I only use one psn acount and don't understand why only having one for the vita is so bad.
Dale, what's the deal with using saves and trophies?

when the psn was down I was unable to transfer any of my legally purchased ps1 or psp games to my psp go Which basically turned it into a paper weight. Is it the same with the vita. If so thats a major problem. Also do you have to be connected to the internet to transfer content to the internet. I used to be able to copy my games from the system so long as I left the license on it. Since we have to use the content manager i'm assuming will need an always on internet connection just to transfer stuff to it.

On the PS3, I have multiple region accounts, but I actually purchase PSN Points for my Japanese account to buy some games in the JP region. It's really easy to do - I select my account, input the code, and buy the game.

@JQM - As Sterling and Holmes said on a previous Podtoid - when Nintendo or MS fuck up, they fuck up big and everyone sees it. When Sony fucks up, its always smaller things that people say "aren't a big deal," at least until you start piling them up.
What ends up happening is Nintendo and MS's screw-ups quickly fade in time and we're left with Sony and a stinking pile of shit that just keeps getting bigger. It grew one little turd at a time and now its mountain - be it firmware updates, backing out of PS2 BC, reducing USB ports, taking away Other OS capability, changing how many downloadable games can be shared, the no-sue EULA change, proprietary memory, strange account restrictions, online passes, separating online passes from the digital purchase...
Getting a better picture now? Big pile of shit. By themselves perhaps not a big deal and yet they're joined by other "not a big deals" to go from a molehill to a towering mountain. And while this mountain of shit is taking things away, Nintendo and MS are adding value to their products.

Dale - Before you said that trophies were linked the the Vita hardware along with your PSN account. How exactly are they linked to the hardware? It doesn't sound like you had any grief so I will take that to mean it (hopefully) won't be a big deal. Also thank you for helping ease an importers mind about this. I look forward to more info when your second memory card comes in!

Totally reminds me of when people discovered how to use Wipeout PSP's browser as an online browser on the original PSP. I think Sony might cave in eventually in having more than one PSN account on the Vita.

That's convenient. From your enthusiastic posts, it seems like the Vita is one hell of a system. To be honest, I haven't heard a lot of bad things about it from other outlets either. But... that price!
I think Sony will eventually allow multiple accounts on a Vita its just that they haven't put it in there just yet.

You're confusing security and software management concerns for "vita-bashing" which isnt the case. I play handhelds a lot between arduous studio sessions and office meetings. I want the vita on release but not at the expense of inconvenience...
Having to complete a 20 minute firmware update on a monday morning when i just want to transfer a game and get to work is an inconvenience. Waking up and having to make sure my internet connection is working just to transfer a fucking game is an inconvenience. Hoping I havent hit my bandwidth limit is an inconvenience. Having to re-purchase my old PSP games because theres no UMD option is an inconvenience. Proprietary memory is an expensive inconvenience. Paying for 2 worthless cameras that i'm never going to use on the PSV is an inconvenience. Having unknown data being sent to Sony HQ through the CM is a huge inconvenience, considering their security was completely ass-raped 6-7 months ago.

Thanks for the guide, but I have a question, when you go to copy the stuff back onto your Vita when you have your new account, do you use the "PC to PSV" option, or the "Restore" option? Because I've just tried this twice (once with PC backup, and once with PS3 backup) and it doesn't work?

@hughescasey23 I personally don't need more than one account, but since I'm going to be sharing the Vita with my wife and family, and we don't want others unlocking our trophies, plus we all want to have our own friends list, why can't we have more than one account? It's an arbitrary and needless restriction.

the whole changing accounts can be sped up from 5 mins to 2 by skipping the 3 min opening movie. Just force a shutdown by holding down on the power button. When you restart your Vita, you'll be at the home screen.

Just wanna say WARNING! Followed the steps, but now I can't restore my files. "There are no back up files", it says. They're on the computer, but my Vita can't find them. Tried multiple times.
