How to score huge in Resogun

7:00 PM on 01.16.2014

I've spent more time playing Resogun than anything else on my PlayStation 4, and with pretty good reason. As a rather deep arcade shooter, it enjoys a high degree of challenge and scoring potential that makes it easy to return to again and again.

The biggest criticism I have is that Resogun does a rather poor job of explaining how its mechanics come together in a scoring sense. Lacking any kind of direct tutorial, you're left to try and divine strategies from loading screen tooltips. All well and good if you have the patience for it, but if you need a primer on how to play Resogun well, the above video lays out a variety of tips and strategies for scoring over 100 million points in the game's median difficulty.

Review: Resogun

Again. Again! Housemarque already had my heart as the creators of Super Stardust. Their latest, PS4 launch title Resogun, shares some of Stardust’s spirit, but it’s a new experience -- a shoot-em-up in a cylindrical loop, built entirely from thousands of voxels.more

Astebreed is a bullet hell shooter where you fight aliens as a janitor

PS4, PS Vita space shooter Futuridium looks like pure arcade fun

MixedBag's space shooter Futuridium looked rad on PS Vita, but when it comes to PlayStation games, one version doesn't cut it any more. Not when there's the possibility of Cross-Buy. Thankfully, the expanded Futuridium EP De...more

Review: Neo XYX

The shoot-'em-up genre will never perish, and neither will the Dreamcast. No matter how niche it can get at times, shooters old and new come out of the woodwork in the most unexpected of places, from Steam to legacy consoles. One such release is Neo XYX, a new (yes, in 2014) game for the Sega's last console, making this the second Dreamcast release this year. It's also the best.more
