Prepare for the future. As this Half-Life 2 video demonstrates, reload times in gaming may soon be based on skill instead of animation speed. In the video, reloading the revolver requires swinging the cylinder open, utilizing a speedloader for reload, and closing the cylinder.
It may seem like something small, but I find it terribly exciting to see the evolution of video game weapon usage in action. It seems like just yesterday that I was beside myself with excitement over weapons reloading on-screen in Perfect Dark.
I suggest definitely checking out the revolver section of the video, but really, the whole thing is great for anyone with interest on how controls may be in shooters of the future. Awesome stuff.
