I wasn't patting you on the back because you felt bad for him or anything. I was saying that based on what little else I'd read about you before, and yeah, I was aware you had a mentally handicapped sister. Hence the compliments.
I know the issues between her and N0M4D are vastly different, but... My sister was in the special ed program throughout her stay in school, and she caught all manners of hell not only from the students but from even the administration. It is a pleasure to find anyone that cares for the physically/mentally disabled instead of shunning them with their "omg deficiency!" bullshit.
I found the story fascinating as well. Hell, I'm fully functional and can't even play Pac-Man worth a shit, so many, many kudos to you, N0M4D. It's nice to see you and anyone else achieving what others may assume to be impossible.

N0M4D, that is beyond fantastic. How much would the patent for your no-hands setup cost? I'd be more than willing to contribute to a fund to get that going, and I'm sure other D-toiders would as well.

I went to a lawyer about this and apparently there are fees to search for other patents like it, fees to actually patent the idea, and apparently to have a patent you need to have a working prototype. Which means I would have to find a company to build it. Then I would have to get the licensing ok'd from Microsoft to use it on their product. By my calculations, it came out to around $20,000. So as nice of a gesture as that is, I don't think any of us have that kind of money. Thank you very much for the thought though.

That is kind of a long story. Basically, when I was younger, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I've moved from state to state with my friends to try to figure out where I belong. Basically, a nomad is someone who travels the world like a bum. But I prefer the more philosophical approach. I believe, a nomad is someone who travels the earth searching for their purpose, and during his travels and adventures he stops in villages and shares his adventures and stories with the children so they can learn more about the world. So basically, it describes me to a tee. I'm a person that is still searching for his purpose in life.

If you don't know the server info do what every spammer and screamer does. search "destructoid ventrilo" in google thats all you'll need.

Kudos. I've known many people with various handicaps and unfortunately a fair portion ive up on most things that are hard. Hell, I've known non-handicapped people that give up at even the slightest difficulty. Lesson learned for all... If you stick with it, you'll make it... onto a story in Destructoid... by Brit! Which rox. :P
