Aliens star and Ghostbusters leading lady Sigourney Weaver claims she was never offered a role in Terminal Reality's upcoming Ghostbusters game, but the developers are claiming that she's a dirty, dirty liar. According to the developer, Weaver turned down the role because she didn't think it was a big deal, then later came to regret her decision.
Brendan Gross of Terminal Reality explained how Weaver was offered a part, but refused. However, once she realized that the game might turn out to be a big deal, even tempting Bill Murray to don a digital backpack and reprise his role, she wanted back in. By that point, however, it was too late and a new female lead was in place. She then raised a fist in anguish and screamed, "Curse you God, for making me this way!"
There is a lesson for us all in this. If you are ever offered a chance to appear in a Ghostbusters videogame, don't turn it down, because you might miss a chance to hang out with Bill Murray and your breasts will look like weird pancake flappers when you take your top off in Death and the Maiden.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
completely unneeded sexist comment. if David Bowie records a bad song there's no reason to mention his dick in 'the man who fell to earth'.
i hate that most of these videogame sites can't help but broadcast their pathetic writers' subtle anti-woman attitude. when the game industry does have full acceptance across gender lines, it probably won't be an industry with you writing about it succesfully. I'd like you to issue a retraction or I'm going to have to quit reading this site.
@gutenbaumen your posts are what the interwebs describe as epic fail. hahaha..
Considering the fact that people only EVER talk about Bowie's penis in The Labyrinth, you couldn't have chosen a worse example.
Seriously, you just disproved your entire point by picking Mr. Potato-in-his-tights.
You are clearly new here if you think the editors around here won't mention Ewan McGregor's penis in a random article relating to star wars. You won't be missed when you leave.
Sigh...
Sigh...
Hate it when actors, past their prime, refuse to reprise a famous role for some lame reason...
Integrity?!
That's why she did four Alien(s) films?!
You are everything that is wrong with society.
@Usedtabe
That was bad, but I still laughed. :)
