To all would-be parents, how prepared are you for the big day? You could probably stand to brush up on some important child-raising skills. For instance, how far can you toss a baby? You'll never know when you'll need to chuck a child out of harm's way!

Kyle Pulver's Offspring Fling, which I brought to your attention last month, is now available for either PC or Mac for $7.99. It's a cute puzzle-platformer with a pastel aesthetic similar to Yoshi's Island. And you get to throw babies -- I don't think I can stress that point enough.

Also available is the soundtrack on Bandcamp for a mere $5. Composed by Alec Holowka, who co-developed Aquaria, it's just a bouncy, jubilant, 12-track party. That's a thing, if you'd like!

La-Mulana 2 aims to be more 'intuitive,' still hard as heck

La-Mulana was regarded by some as the hardest game ever. This isn't going to change, though Nigoro's Takami Naramura wants it to be slightly more intuitive so perhaps all those deaths don't lead to warranted frustration and ...more

Open world platformer/space shooter A.N.N.E is a retro buffet

Really, why even play clearly deficient retro games? I mean, where are the shmup segments in Metroid? Where are the open world segments in Contra? Where are the line segments in a bisected triangle? A.N.N.E. is one part platformer, one part shmup, one part RPG. And this year at PAX A.N.N.E. has all its systems in play. Maybe we'll all get to play it this year.more

Addiction allegory Spate's soundtrack is available now

Spate made a bit of a stir with its release last month, if not for its attempt to tackle themes more mature than shooting bullets at beefy dudes, then for its dated representation of absinthe as it exists and is understood to...more
