Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
1. Awesomeness
2. Steadily decline into cash-grab mode
3. Cash-grab mode. People are mad
4. Wallow for a bit and make some seemingly meaningless changes
5. Unleash hilarious troll moves like crap-art Mega Man "box art" for Mega Man 9
6. Return to awesomeness
The cycle advances with every release, yet Capcom is never punished for the low points. Corporate respect comes at a premium these days and no one ever values it because they always forget the times they don't have it.
@Tony Ponce:
Mega Man wasn't buttraped by his masters at the time. 100% loyalty or none at all.
And if the real Mega Man were in the game, that would make any difference? It would be the same thing: people bitching that he's in a fighter instead of starring in his own game.
There's a real easy solution to that...release him in his own damn game so the fans will stop complaining. The last time I checked Capcom was in business to make money.
Cannot stop laughing.
Creating an entire videogame is an easier solution than offering a guest slot on a pre-existing crossover fighter?
Nope
"'s Yoshinori Ono?"
Yep.
and by that, i mean NOT awesome. he tried tho.

STFUAJPG.
Oh look, a wrong person.
I am a long time fan of Street Fighter and I still like the way he works. Street IV shaped up to be a great revival for fighting games in general (yes, I played III and I love it.).
This crossover is also shaping up to be something quite unique. My only concern is the gems system, but I have to try for myself to see if it's viable for tournaments.
Anyway, about the Bad-Boxart Mega Man... You guys know that it was cleared with KEIJI FUCKING INAFUNE over 2 years ago that he would appear right? It's not trolling a angry fanbase, it's a long thought out reveal originally meant to be a side-thing to the Bad-Boxart Mega Man in Mega Man Universe.
For fucks sake, I hate Capcom's treatment of Mega Man too (I wrote two damn blogs about it in a weeks time!) but this is grasping at straws just to hate on something. It's a gag that has no connection to anything else that has happened, hell, it's not like Ono cancelled MMU/MML3, stopped Mega Man from appearing in MvC3 (Hell, he specifically kept pointing out that he was not developing that game.) and he absolutely did not port Mega Man X to iOS.
And did any of you seriously thing it was regular Mega Man when the sillhouette came up? I thought it was pretty obvious with the human proportions and the obvious big gun in his hand... But whatever.
Holy shit that pic had me laughing so hard.
Do we have to pay 5 bucks for the longer version of this video with an alternate costume?
Sorry I had to :L
Best comment.
I am a long time fan of Street Fighter and I think a lot of people have deluded themselves into believing that there has been some paradigm shift. Street Fighter 4 is directly in line with previous Street Fighter games. Same with Marvel 3 (being in line with the Marvel series). There hasn't been some large philosophical shift in how they play. They are aren't "easier" than previous games in the series, if anything, the advanced stuff is harder. I know it is much more cool to praise Third Strike and claim that Capcom has gone down hill, but sometimes it is nice to actually give games their due and get off the bandwagon.
Thank you.
