House of the Dead: Overkill is receiving a f*cking staggering honor from The Guinness Book of World Records. According to their f*cking research, the on-rails zombie shooting f*ckfest has earned a f*cking record for having the "most swearing in a videogame" ever. Holy f*ck!
For the first f*cking time, Guinness has added the f*cking category to their f*cking "Gamer's Edition" of their prestigious f*cking book of records. House of the Dead: Overkill won the f*cking thing by using profane f*cking terms 189 f*cking times. With the game's f*cking dialogue clocking in at three f*cking hours, it works out to just over one f*cking use every f*cking minute. F*cking impressive if you ask me. I bet those f*ckers who worked on Madworld are f*cking pissed.
Sega has f*cking put out a f*cking press release on the f*cking subject, which you can read after the f*cking jump. What the f*ck do you guys f*cking think? Leave your f*cking comments on the f*cking subject.
[Author's f*cking note: This was originally the most f*cking profane blog post ever f*cking written, but the last five f*cking paragraphs were f*cking edited out because of their f*cking content. I was f*cking robbed.]
HOUSE OF THE DEAD: OVERKILL BREAKS [AN EFFIN’] RECORD FOR THE GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS GAMER’S EDITION
London, UK – 9 March, 2009 – The global authority on record-breaking, Guinness World Records, today announced that recently released The House of the Dead: OVERKILL (SEGA®, 2009) has broken into the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition for most swearing in a video game with a whopping 189 uses of the f-word.
Setting a record in this brand new category, the title recognizes The House of the Dead: OVERKILL as the most profane video game in history.During three hours of relatively limited dialogue, the campaign features 189 uses of the f-word, which equates to just over one per minute and three percent of all words spoken in the game.
Video Games Records Manager for Guinness World Records, Gaz Deaves, said: “This record category pre-existed for movies, music and television, but House of the Dead: Overkill is the first video game to be awarded the title in the Gamer’s Edition. It’s a mark of the times.”
The new record will be shortlisted for inclusion in next year’s Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition. Meanwhile, the 2009 Gamer’s Edition hit stores last month and has already received critical acclaim from both the gaming world and the mainstream press. Enjoying a top ten position on the UK book chart, Gaming Guide Kotaku said about the book: “With entries for professional gaming, top selling games in history, the history of hardware and Guitar Hero, the Guinness World Records 2009 Gamer's Edition looks to be a must have for fans of gaming.”
The House of the Dead: OVERKILL uncovers the ugly, terrifying, red hot secrets behind the House of the Dead; the daddy of all over-the-top shooters. While staying true to the classic gameplay this highly successful SEGA series takes on a new retro look with distinctive graphics, sound and attitude that add to its horror cool status. Also, because of the Wii Remote™, players will fight off zombies when they get too close; pistol-whipping jaws off and smashing in skulls with their shotgun butt.

Don't random baddies in say Fallout 3 spout off the f-word at random? I'm sure with the amount of time I've played that game that I would have shattered this record, but I guess they're probably counting distinct lines of dialogue as opposed to the same dialogue repeated.
Man f=ck this f=cking profanity! I'm going to a f=cking christian blog so I don't have to f=cking deal with all these f=ckers f=cking all over the f=cking place!
well I suppose that is about as relevent as a record for the worlds biggest ball of yarn so yeah it does deserve it's place in the guniess book of records.
Haven't you heard Madworld yet? The voice of Bender and Marcus Fenix saying things like "You know those pills have a better effect if you grind them up and inject them into the folds of your scrotum"-
I wanted to put a bullet in Washington's face after hearing his repetitive use of the f-word. Talk about corny and annoying dialogue. The voice acting was also pretty bad.
MadWorld's use of profanity with the commentary while repetitive, was actually entertaining.
OOO Names are now blue instead of Red.... also, I really liked the article. Good for Sega. Next they'll be featured for ruining Sonic worse than any company could ever ruin anything that they've created.
It's hard to fucking believe this fucking rubbish what fucking insane fucktard would fucking believe this fucking shit. I am one fucking hundred perfucks positively certain that the fucking wii is such a fucking baby console made for fucks that fuck with their crayons. fuckitty fuck fuck.

will probably f*cking buy it when f*cking Fatal Frame four comes out and will f*cking get HOTD and MadWorld just for the f*cking sake of 189 f*ck words and f*cking violence.

Oh, and I think I said fuck that many times in high school in a single week, yeah, I swear a lot.
they said fuck atleast once in every single line of dialogue in the entire game.
Now expect every other developer to try and top it from here on out.
MadWorld's use of profanity with the commentary while repetitive, was actually entertaining.
