Hotel Dusk in action

I cannot WAIT to play this game. Thank whatever gods there are or aren't that there are developers out there with the creativity to make titles like this. For some reason I'm reminded of Icom's Deja Vu, though I'm sure this offering will be much, much better. Hit the jump for three more videos of Hotel Dusk in action.

Thanks to Major Nelson for the tippage!

I am drooling over the thought of playing this one. I was a big fan of Deja Vu, so I can understand completely what you're talking about. The gritty, sketchy art style of the characters really sets this game apart artistically.

Thank God innovation and unique thoughts are still alive and well.

It's already out in the US, right? I did read some review somewhere and the person absolute loved it. Oh well just have to wait a few months.

I'm waiting for this since I've seen the E3 trailer. This is the only DS-title I will buy without reading any reviews or previews.

I can't believe I just sat through about 2 minutes of a noirish detective game character solving a jigsaw of a completely cartoonish looking rabbit thing with ehru music playing in the background on my media player. Life gets deeper by the day.

that's why i loved 'trace memory'. to this day i still think that was the best DS game to date, especially if you love adventure games which is a daying breed. these guys make good games.

Looks awesome. I'll wait for reviews before jumping on the purchase. It might be oversimplistic and ridiculously short, but I'd still probably pick it up when the price is reduced. Didn't much care for most of the music, though.

I've been playing it since Thursday, and it's jaw-droppingly good. Anyone who says that you need high technology for beautiful gameplay experiences should look at this game then weep at their folly.

I haven't played the game yet but I think I can agree on that.

Trace Memory is great if you like to pay twenty bucks for a game you can beat in about three hours. (Two if you've already played it before)

I hope this game has a bit more length to it, although I really dig the control scheme.

yeah you can beat trace memory in 3 hours with a walkthough, no doubt about it. otherwise for most people who want to take their time to enjoy a game, some of the puzzles will take some time to figure out. it's a great game and definitely doesn't get enough credit for its art style and cleverness. people should definitely check it out if they're even remotely interested in hotel dusk.

Trace Memory took me about 4 and a half hours with minimal walkthrough usage on the annoyingly arbitary parts. However, I wouldn't have finished it if it were longer, as most of it was lame. I sure know I hide my keycodes on two separate paintings by splicing the code numbers in case I ever forget and need to use an electronic device that can take pictures and overlay them on top of each other. Yup, thats how I lock ALL of my doors. Ugh.
