Hotel Dusk really was a great little game. It took everything you loved about old school adventure games and made it all look like an A-Ha video. What wasn't to love? If you're one of those who gave the game its cult following, we've got good news for you -- sequel time!
The Last Window: Midnight Promise is a followup to Kyle Hyde's original adventure. Developed again by Cing, it's set in LA during the 1980s and will see Hyde return and possibly meet an adult Ashley Mizuki Robbins from Trace Memory. It will once again be for the DS and is due to hit Japan on January 24, 2010.
Awesome. Now what about our localized version?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I mean The last Windows?I can think better names than that.
Lets say
The Last Sidewalk:Daily Cracks
The Fringe:Refilling
or a bazzilion names better than that
Anyways, I'm looking forward to this now.
HNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Hotel Dusk ended with a strange sort of cliffhanger because they didn't explain much certain whys in it, I am glad they did not end it just like that.
This is exactly what I though the second I heard about this. Don't get me wrong, HD125 is my favorite DS game, but NOA has a nasty habit of not releasing Nintendo's own titles lately. I hope the new Hotel Dusk doesn't go the way of the new Trace Memory.

I almost picked up a DS just for Hotel Dusk.
But then, finances. Damn you, finances.
That would definitely suck, but at least since on the DS if it got a European release it would be possible to import it.
I am ecstatic.
Best news I've heard all year.
Tochter aus Elysium!
Wir betreten feuertrunken,
Himmlische, Dein Heiligtum.
Deine Zauber binden wieder,
Was die Mode streng geteilt,
Alle Menschen werden Brüder,
Wo Dein sanfter Flügel weilt.
Seid umschlungen, Millionen!
Diesen Kuß der ganzen Welt!
Brüder, über'm Sternenzelt
Muss ein lieber Vater wohnen!

It's more than official, I have the biggest nerdgasm of my life
Lol at Kylehyde. This is obviously your news of the day.
Hopefully this will get a release unlike the second Trace Memory game.
Now, please, please; pretty please, release this in the US!
I haven't found any information about Ashley being in Last Window; I think that's a misconception, and the only official information about Kyle and Ashley meeting in another game is from a recent interview with Cing, in which one of the game developers states that she'd "like to see an older Kyle Hyde, all sobered up and acting cool, have an encounter with a grown-up Ashley who is much more positive than when she is just a young girl", as the games take place in the same world, apparently. That doesn't mean they'll actually meet each other in this game, however; that really wouldn't make sense.
Here's the interview so that you can see the quote in context. The interview was actually linked to in Siliconera's post: http://www.cubed3.com/news/13027
