It's starting. Only a matter of time now until Gravity Rush, AssCreed: Liberation, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss come to PlayStation 3 as well.

So Sony is porting their most successful Vita game in Japan to the PS3 not even a year out from the games release.
Brilliant move, Sony.
I don't own a Vita, so this tells me that I don't have to buy a Vita to experience its few worthwhile exclusives. They'll just come to a PS3 near me soon enough.

Sony just doesn´t get it....you need to have EXCLUSIVES on your portable system you have to force people to buy one !

at least they finally admit defeat.
we all knew Vita was dead on arrival when sony treated it just as they treated PSP flooding it with crappy spinoffs of PS3 games - nobody will buy a dedicated handheld just to play shitty versions of games they already own. and they still don't get it if they think that cross-buy will entice people to buy a Vita.
PSP was so successful, because it had great multimedia capabilities that no mobile device could match(no everyone has that and more in their phone) and original IPs and games that weren't on ps2. they made mistake from the very beginning by not launching with PSX and PS2 emulation and by making so many spinoffs of PS3 franchises. they should have started with original IPs and games that created a fanbase on PSP like LocoRoco, Patapon, Syphon Filter, Daxter or Pursuit Force. in the end they killed off every franchise they've created or revived on PSP.

I actually agree with your last point. LocoRoco and Patapon on release would have tipped the scales for the Vita (for me at least)
I still want to get a Vita at some point for traveling or gaming while camping but HSG is the only thing on my Vita list.

Hey sofik88... having Hot Shots with Trophies was reason enough for me to buy a Vita, not to mention another Uncharted that was NOT a port. I'd still be happy if only those 2 games had ever been released on Vita, and its glorious OLED screen.
This is just a bad idea, it's okay to do this a few years down the line when the Vita builds up a nice library, but it's too soon to start this. First Sound Shapes now this. This is the 2nd biggest problem with the Vita after the memory cards, so much of the software is available on the PS3. Take for instance Project Diva F which was my Vita system seller, I would have bought a Vita for that game alone. Now that it's going to be available for the PS3, it's become more difficult for me to justify buying a Vita. I still want one, it's just I don't feel the same strong need for it I felt before.

Which is especially bad because the PS3 cost the same yet already has a large built in hard drive, has better graphics, and a larger library of games. The PS3 is the better value, and if you already own a PS3 a Majority of Vita games are on PS3. I know Vita has portability, but alot of people say they play their handhelds at home.

This game is one of the high reasons I want a Vita. So if they do release it over here and put a cross-buy promotion on it, that will just tempt me to get a Vita even more. Do it Sony! Smart marketing!
Got my vita for dirt fucking cheap yesterday. No regrets. Even if I never buy another game or stop support. I've got tons of shit to play everywhere now.

i will gladly buy this, been wanting a new HSG since OOB, and since im not a portable gamer, and never will be, i welcome this with empty disc trays
Seriously is this an exclusive that everyone is going out rushing to buy a vita for? No? thought so.

Admit defeat? What? When was expanding the userbase of something admitting defeat? How can you say that this wasn't in the works? This is isn't some slap-dashed port, there's actual work put into the dang thing with Move support and being able to play with Vita owners. Sure the 1080P thing is an easy add-in but this is far from admitting defeat.

I'm just waiting for Sony to start porting PS3 games to the Vita. I need games like NHL, Borderlands and Fallout on the go!!
I've always liked the series and will be glad if the PS3 version comes to US. Not sure if it's a bad sign for the vita or not, as different audiences want different things, but there is bound to be crossover. Tho I have to say this, and other releases, are a pretty good reason not to get a vita if you were on the fence mainly over games.
