Hot Bayonetta demo action coming next week photo

Good news for those of you too lazy to create Japanese PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE accounts -- Sega has announced that the demo for Platinum Games' Bayonetta will be hitting North America and Europe next week, on December 3.

Jim Sterling took a look at both versions of the demo now long ago, and basically came to the conclusion that the Xbox 360 version was superior. Both, however, were good times. The Internet, of course, exploded anyhow. That's just what happens.

Earlier today, a few of us were talking about how the game really wasn't on some of our radars until we tried out the demo. It's shaping up to be an over-the-top third person action game, full of violence and sexual overtones... the way we like it.

Bayonetta is set for release in North America on January 5, with a European release to follow three days later.

You know, you don't really have to create a Japanese account to get Japanese Demos on your 360. It's much easier to just torrent the demo, burn it on any disc it will fit on (usually a dvd-r, but some will fit on CD-R) and throw it in the tray. No modding necessary.

I played this demo when it was released in Japan and I can not wait for this game to come state-side.

sweet - I have several friends who are interested in the demo, but not enough to have created an account to d/l the version from Japan. I think I'll play the demo a couple more times tonight to celebrate it's forthcoming release. :)

This news confuses me. Last week, someone told me that the demo was up on Live. I at first didn't believe them, since Jim didn't get on here spraying his baby batter everywhere in excitement.

I went out to the Marketplace, and sure enough, there it was. Put it in my queue, downloaded it after I got home, but didn't get around to playing it until Friday (BTW, liked what I played/saw, very reminiscent of DMC, which isn't a bad thing).

Then today, I saw on another site that only people who received download codes were able to download it prior to today's announcement of the official demo release. So...I guess I snuck in?

Not trying to sound like I'm special ('cause I'm not)...just confused as to how I got the demo early without this mysterious demo code.

@PixelatedPope

How is that easier? Making a Japanese account takes around a minute with the right information. Then you can download everything that's available for free, not just demos.

Ah, never mind. Friend of mine just told me it's asking him for a code. Guess I did indeed sneak in...

Well, I guess it was easier for me to get my friends to play the demo. So rather than get them all to create Japanese xbox live accounts and everything, I just downloaded the demo, burned a bunch of copies, and handed them out.

*Shrug* It's a good solution for those of us with lazy friends that we want to share the love with.

Also, this works with demos that are Gold Member exclusive or pre-order code only (like Brutal Legend). I'm not sure about Region Locked (last region locked demo I cared about was Ninja Gaiden 2... not sure if they still do that) but I imagine it would work.

When I first heard about the game it sounded interesting but I put it aside. Then Sega sent me a demo code and after playing it, the game is amazing loads of fun. It's devil may cry on crack with tons of awesomeness! Really looking forward to the game!

I beat the japanese version a few weeks ago (the text is fully translated and the voice acting is in english). It's a really solid game so I hope it sells well in North America!

SEGA of America has already sent out codes for people to people to download the North American demo for Bayonetta. I received a code already myself, and the demo is essentially the same thing. There's no difference at all.

The codes were for SEGA Pass members to get early access to the demo. ;)
