Japanese accessory maker Hori is releasing an arcade pad for the PS3, called the "Fighting Stick 3." It'll connect to the PS3 via USB port, and will run for about $45 USD for the cheapo version, while the high end one will run for about $70 USD, and even features a nicer name, "Arcade Pro 3." The sticks will be available on January 8th, right around when Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection is coming out. This'll also be nice for playing any old PS1 and PS2 fighting games, since it can get past the problem of having to press the Playstation button that other specialty controllers have been having.

This reminds me, I so need to get a classic arcade stick for my PC. Been meaning to for years now.

Just in time for Street Fighter II: the eighth port!

Mxyzptlk, get an X-Arcade (try and get their all new Tankstick, if you can afford $200), although mine has a slightly broken joystick, their totally awesome warranty will cover the cost of the parts needed for the repairs, and when the joystick wasn't kinda broken, it NEVER failed me, and it's GREAT for basically all arcade games, including dual-joystick games, and Neo-Geo. So, although this stick looks great for PS3 owners, if you don't have a PS3, X-Arcade is THE way to go, because it's multi-console (got GCN adapter recently for Ikaruga) and has a lifetime warranty. Yeah, I'm sounding like an advertiser, but I really do love that thing.

Still got my Namco one from my PS, use it with a little adapter now it's USB too. Only thing I dislike are those micro-switchers, noisy as hell

@ nightmareci:

Yeah, X-Arcade is exactly what I've had my eye on for a while now. :) The Tankstick with the trackball is hawt. The price is what's been keeping me from getting one, but I know I will eventually. It'll be nice to play Street Fighter 2 on GameTap and actually be able to pull off the special moves.

Oh Yes! Hori makes DAMN good arcade sticks. Well worth the price if you care about precision. The HRAP 2 (Real Arcade Pro) are very nice sticks.

Mxyzptlk, the price of the 2-player one held me back a while too, but I managed to get mine refurbished at $100 directly from them, and the sw33t thing is I still get the same warranty! And don't fret about the quality of their joysticks, they are more than capable of the proper rotation moves used in fighting games, as I've experienced.

Why wouldn't you just build your own? Then you can use better joysticks and buttons(Sanwa/Seimetsu/Happ). X-arcade are the new Mas Sticks. Only difference is they use cheaper parts and have a worse button layout. If you are lazy and want a prefab stick, I would go with Massytems or Hori over X-arcade 10/10 times.

I agree with Static X. I've used x-arcade stuff, and never really liked it. Massystems is where it's at. That, or you can just buy a playstation to usb adapter at radioshack for 9 bucks. and use the awesome tekken 5 stick.

If they make one that's compatible with all 3 next(aka this) gen consoles, i'm sold. Until then, i will keep sucking at Street Fighter.

I dunno, I've got a hori and an X arcade and I find my self using the hori for tekken, but then I think the X arcade is better for 2d fighters.
