The guys over at Ripten spied with their little eyes an interesting little logo on the bottom of the PS3 version of Bioshock’s packaging. Right next to the 2K sigil is Sony’s Home emblem. The packaging above was snagged from the UK retail website Game, but the developer in charge of the porting, Digital Extremes, is proudly displaying the very same thing.
What does this mean past the fact that there will be some sort of integration? We have no clue. It could mean as little as an indication of Trophy support, or it could be some magical cross-game experience. Perhaps we will be able to decorate our Home apartments with Big Daddy wallpaper? Or take screen captures from the game to share with others? The best opportunity would be to buy Plasmids to toss out on the community while waiting in line at the movie theatre.
The Bioshock PS3 port is set to hit the streets in mid-October, which is a surprisingly long time away from now. Certainly this would give any developer the opportunity to do something "extra special" with a title. While we await the fantastic news on what Bioshock will bring to Home, tell me what you think it could be. Also feel free to hit the break for the full picture of the packaging.

I'm sure it's just Trophy support, but it would be nice to know devs are working on making Home more than just Second Life on a PS3.
Best case scenario: Big Daddies and Little Sisters roam the streets of Home, slaughtering anyone that comes close to them who hasn't bought the Plasmid Accessory Pack (available now for only $10!) in Home.
Worst case scenario: Look! Leaderboards!
What would be even NICER is if they integrated a way to use levels of Rapture as home areas (instead of movie theater, you could meet your friends in a garden), but again, there is always the old wish in one hand... yadda yadda...
Isn't somebody releasing info on the exclusive content of PS3 Bioshock tomorrow? I think that it's Spike TV..
Also Trophy support is already confirmed so that's not it.
Yeah, I was thinking it might be the indicator for trophy support. It might be a section of "Home" dedicated to Bioshock. Who knows...
It would be pretty cool if that symbol had something to do with Bioshock's in game camera. I was pretty dissapointed that I couldn't save and view my pictures in the 360 version, maybe the PS3 version will allow that and it will be tied somehow to home.
Home is on the disc ready for everyone to install once they've bought the game. It could also be some Bioshock zone inside home. It's not hard to imagine some Art Deco building or space.
Maybe it's nothing after all. It could be that one can start the game from inside home.
Interesting to say the least...
I'm sure someone above posted what it's for as all the ideas sound pretty neat.
Does this mean you can get an apartment in Mercury Suites in Home? That would be pretty awesome.
It's not trophies, they probably are doing some kind of add on content space through home. Maybe you can dress your avatar like Big Daddy and creep out the others.
well, only the ninjas at sony and 2K know for sure but whatever it is i'm interested.
Well they have already confirmed that Bioshock is going to be the first PS3 game with trophies so I am sure it is that.
im buying it.
How about they just release Home already? That's a pretty good idea.
But that's not the current packaging for the PS3 version is it? Isn't it something with the Big Daddy and a little sister holding his leg?
I think it will bring mudkips to 40% of the world.
Yeah, I think it has to do with the camera. I bet can use in-game pics as decoration or share them etc.
Damn. Why isn't this post about FFXI-2?
Nice! I'm looking forward to bringing in a little Rapture flavor to my home if they let me. Complete with bulkheads, walkways through water and a minibar where a BigDaddy serves me drinks.
Here's an idea, how about bringing over the mouse and keyboard support from UT3? Lord knows more games need that. Srsly.
