Yesterday we told you about a 3D remake of the original NES game Bionic Commando, and now IGN has details and footage on this PSN and XBLA title, named Bionic Commando Rearmed.
The downloadable Bionic Commando Rearmed revisits the classic, and as you can see, everything has been revamped in gorgeous 3D. IGN spoke with Ben Judd, producer at Capcom Japan, and found that the story of the original NES title has been fleshed out for Rearmed. New information helps tie this game to the upcoming next-gen title.
It seems that we can expect some bionic upgrades as well.
"We felt the original could be improved without straying from the basic concept, says Judd.
"We have expanded upon this array of moves and given the player the ability to lift up non-fixed objects – such as enemies and barrels – and throw them, as well as connect and pull on handles in the surroundings to trigger door mechanics or unscrew bolts that keep obstacles in place."
Holy Hitler! Doesn't this new footage look amazing? Be honest with me: aren't you more excited about this than the new next-gen title?

Holy Crap! That is mine, that is so mine! I remember the original, and the next gen remake looked kinda interesting (but a typical "OH LOOK 3d! *runs off screaming*" thing. This, however is beautiful! *humps it*
I think this is awesome in the sameway it was done in Mario All Stars and Prince of Persia. I think all classic 8-bit and 16-bit titles should be updated in this fashion. If for anything, for posterity sake.

But shit man, it's looking very sweet.
Don't forget that bit at the end where it says the downloadable title will unlock a classic skin in the other Bionic Commando game they're makeing.
That footage is amazing; I would buy that in-store in a heartbeat, if they ever went to that method of distribution.

CO-OP for crying out loud!
I retract my statement from yesterday saying I was more stoked about the new next gen version.

Yeah who couldn'tve missed that! Wow... well I guess if you really dislike the dreads and hot-dog arm, there you go.
The game does look fucking hot, however.
Listen up Capcom: THIS is what we want!
Be honest with me: aren't you more excited about this than the new next-gen title?
YES
