I use to say the worst thing that happened to Mortal Kombat was that God awful Sub Zero spin off game. After today, I stand corrected.
Haters gonna hate. I had this album as a kid and I loved it. I'd put it on while practicing my Taekwondo and I was exactly as cool as that sounds.
I just found the soundtrack for Killer Instinct in some old boxes I was going through. Talk about terrible...

I loved the sound of the album as a kid, and I don't know if it's nostalgia or what, but I still like the sound.
The lyrics do suck total balls. I didn't give a shit about lyrics when I was a kid, though.

Ok ok. The movie album was boss, and I was about to get fanboyish for a second, but this is ok, lawl.
I'm more interested in the music featured in the games and MK9 and SF4 definitely let me down.
Not surprised with Mk9's bland music given that franchises history in that department but SF4???
Especially after SF3 which had some amazing stage themes and SF2, well those themes are just plain legendary!

yup, got duped into buying this one before music stores had listening stations... i liked what i heard from LoA before this, on the Virtuosity soundtrack, i think. but this... this... *sigh*

I actually owned this CD. Most of the songs were, well, shit, but track 10, Hypnotic House, was awesome.
While it's all terribly silly, some of these tracks are actually very well produced, but incrediblty cheesy at the same time. Fucking ninties.
Lords of Acid were pretty great back in the day, but yeah.. side projects will be side projects (I.E. Terribly hit or miss)
Lords of Acid are amazing. Gotta figure someone offered them money to do this album and they said "yeah sure" and tossed together whatever shit came to mind one drunk Tuesday night and called it good enough. I don't really blame them.
This album is BOSS. Tony, seriously, how can you not appreciate the wholehearted fanaticism expressed in these lyrics from a simpler, less-cynical time. Of course it's not an album you put on and listen to in the background with some friends over drinks. That's not the point. It's very existence is what justifies itself.

I remember my parents bought me this CD along with Green Day's Insomniac and Pearl Jam's Ten albums for Christmas once year. Sadly enough the Mortal Kombat album was the one we played the most, if only to laugh our asses off at the Liu Kang song and the Raiden rap. I still have it in my CD case somewhere, lmao. Good shit
