Are you excited?! I know I am! Nintendo may never ever let Mother 3 get released outside of Japan, but we are finally getting a movie called Earthbound!
Earthbound, the movie, will be starring Kate Hudson, Gael Garcia Bernal, Kathy Bates and Lucy Punch. The movie is about Kate Hudson's character discovering that she has cancer before meeting a new guy. The studio is holding open casting calls right now for principal and background actors. If you're in Los Angeles and want to star in this new movie, then check out ComingSoon to see how you can get a minor role.
Exciting news, but I'm not sure what this has to do with the game exactly. I'm guessing that the cancer is probably Giygas. Kate, who's obviously playing Ness, has Giygas cancer. Giygas cancer sucks!

Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I'm waiting patiently for the "Diz isnt neuz," people. Although I might actually agree that this is kinda lame.
Seriously though, this is probably the most hilarious thing I've read in a while.
;)
No, make that just relieved.
Or relieve them. One of the two. Either way it'll come in buckets.
...god dammit.
I'd earth her bound. Or bound her earth.
Whichever sounds more sexual.
wait. shit. too open about it.
This is that last nail in the existential coffin that is hope of a continued Earthbound universe.
Why you do this? :(
1981 Earthbound?
1940 Earthbound?
Maybe 1920 Earthbound?
Actually, nah. I have to agree with Ramage Mendez--THANK GIYGAS. Not the cancer part >:/, just the fact it isn't what it looked like at first. Really, I'd rather have it made in Japan--not today's typical American, video game memory-shaming garbage. Someday though, Japan...maybe, someday...who here's going to get a kick out of seeing a commercial for something called "Earthbound" in the near-future here in the states!?
But in all seriousness, I feel sad cuz I've never played an Earthbound game...
(she looks cute in that hat)
