HOJAEFJAAM: Atlus having an amazing summer sale on PSN

10:00 PM on 07.03.2012 // Kyle MacGregor

Summer is here and that probably means you're spending a lot of time inside nice air-conditioned buildings trying to get away from the scorching heat. Unfortunately AC is expensive, but the kind folks at Atlus are a thoughtful bunch and they've decided to go ahead and slash prices on a bunch of their titles available on PSN to help keep you safe and solvent this summer.

Kicking off July with the "Half Off Just About Everything For Just About A Month" PlayStation Network sale, or HOJAEFJAAM for short, the publisher of all that is strange and Japanese has done just that, halving prices on a wide variety of their digital offerings on Sony platforms until the end of July.

Among the amazing deals are classic Atlus gems such as Persona 3 Portable ($9.99) and more recent hits like Trine 2 ($7.49). My personal favorite of the bunch has to be Catherine, which is currently going for a mere $19.99. If you've yet to pick up the emotional puzzler I heartily recommend it. At that price it's an absolute steal. The full list awaits just after the break.

  • Class of Heroes  --  $7.49 (originally $14.99)
  • Crimson Gem Saga  --  $7.49 (originally $14.99)
  • Hexyz Force  --  $7.49 (originally $14.99)
  • Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble  --  $7.49 (originally $14.99)
  • Riviera: The Promised Land  --  $4.99 (originally $9.99)
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Persona  --  $9.99 (originally $19.99)
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin  --  $14.99 (originally $29.99)
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable  --  $9.99 (originally $19.99)
  • Knights in the Nightmare  --  $7.49 (originally $14.99)
  • Yggdra Union  --  $4.99 (originally $9.99)
  • Droplitz  --  $4.99 (originally $9.99)
  • The Cursed Crusade  --  $14.99 (originally $29.99)
  • Catherine  --  $19.99 (originally $39.99)
  • Trine 2  --  $7.49 (originally $14.99)
  • Rock of Ages  --  $4.99 (originally $9.99)

Spiel was mightily expensive. Holy shit... Good thing I didn't bring more money with me, too. Saw enough stuff I'd love to own.

Trialling PS Now - review to come later - has reminded me of a piece of little-reported PS3 news. Owners of hacked PS3s could turn any PS2 game into a 'Classics' title and run them on a bog-standard PS3 with few issues.

Wanna ask a question for tomorrow's PStoid? You still have time! While you're at it don't forget to ask one for Riobux too!!

I caught a reflective mumbling about MGSV's open structure and how it doesn't sit well with me, to be published whenever I litter it with images.

I cracked and bought Final Fantasy Dimensions on Android last night. Half off sounded like just the right price, though I wish this came out on 3DS or even the Vita but at least it gives me something to do on the porcelain throne!

Heading off to Spiel in a bit. A whole lot of games there, just of the cardboard variety. I love me some board games.

Finally finished The Witcher 3. Definitely one of the best games I've played in my 30 years or so of gaming. Now onward to Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain.

MGS Online Day 3. I have 3 character up to level 10 now, one in each class. They're all pretty handy, but I do miss the scout's mark speed the most on other classes.

The SW: Battlefront is pretty and has great sound design, but the gameplay is so shallow and has seemingly no depth! If the full game is like this I will be disappointed.
