Computerandvideogames.com spoke to Valve's Doug Lombardi earlier today, and the news was grim. The second episodic expansion for multiple Game Of The Year award winner Half-Life 2 has been delayed yet again.

Originally scheduled to appear on PC's all over the world for the 2006 holiday season, it was bumped back to early 2007 only a short time ago. As of the announcement today, it is now scheduled for a vague "Summer 2007" release.

We appreciate Valve's desire to make sure that their game (which includes the amazingly rad Portal and Team Fortress 2) is as polished as it can possibly be, but who do they think they are? Blizzard

This sucks, but it's for the best, definitely. I'd much rather they put out the games that everybody is so hyped about with a delay than just a good-to-mediocre game when they say they will.

Valve is now reporting a Summer 2007 release, delayed from a Q1 2007, that was delayed from a Holiday 2006, that was… Wait, Valve delaying a game is something new? Since when?

That sucks. Been playing TFC since it was first released, and I must have Team Fortress 2. Portal looked like it would kick some ass as well.

1st- this episode 2 better have a good 10 hours of gameplay at least after these long delays...the first epdisode had like 4 hours tops maybe, it was a good episode but 4 hours of game play for 20 bucks is a ripoff...2nd as the first guy said, register to comment, bleh.

Fuck man I want to play half life 2 and my comp can't handle it and now the 360 version isn't coming out till forever! I thought the point of episodic content was that they could release sooner than if they made a sequel? Now I know this is still 4 years ahead of schedule if it were a sequel but come on, they are only making like 10 hours of new gameplay and team fortress 2 so why can't they release it already? also bleh commen, register bleh.

Dissapointing sure, but when you think about it, there's 3 games in 1 here; So long as it comes out before the end of 2007 I'll be happy.
