Hitman, the game, explicitly promotes murder as a means to one's own ends, and as such likely drives parent's groups, Jack Thompson and anyone else inclined to affix scarlet typeface to the misfits of society into the sort of frothy holier-than-thou rage generally reserved for Spaniards with an Inquisitionary bent. So, of course, a movie aimed squarely at the same post-teens who get an erection for quoting Latin scripture and gratuitous gunplay, was inevitable.
Above, you can catch a glimpse of the trailer for the film, and I have to say, everything I obtusely mentioned in my first paragraph was entirely justified. With a Boondock-Saints-as-written-by-Alan-Moore feel, the film will no doubt excite the dopamine receptors of American youth yearning for a complicated, dark murderer to sweep them off their feet like so many members of the royal lineage of Charming. Of course, whether or not that translates into actual box office success remains to be seen, but according to this calendar, it's no longer the 1980s, and America may not be as easily charmed into cheering for an assassin with a large enough cache of weapons to choke Charles Bronson as it once was.

I still say he looks wrong for the part, and this trailer seems to make Agent 47 seem like a much nicer guy than I ever remembered.
Oh well.

I don't care, this movie will be awesome.
Olyphant does look a tad young for my liking, but he's got that Agent 47 jaw, so he'll do.
I was gonna make a joke about how he'd be better than Vin Diesel, before I learnt that he was also considered for the role. So, yeah, Timothy will do.
The director is what worries me. The guy has assisted in two Van Damme movies. Please, oh merciful Gods, not another Van Damme-esque mess.
First time I heard about the cast I felt a bit disappointed, 'cause Mister Olyphant doesn't fit 47 at all (from the looks). It got even worse when the first pics of bald-headed Timothy have been released. But hey, with the progression of graphic possibilities games' characters are getting more and more human looks, so in the end there will be no 100% satisfying solution to copy a character like 47 or Sam Fisher on the big screen. I think fans can live with it (at least the have to).
After watching the trailer I have to admit that I got pretty much excited (loved the sign, "Ava Maria" etc.). I'm looking forward to the final release. But nontheless I'm still not getting too hyped at all, because afterall the script with its love story just doesn't fit to the Hitman universe.
That said: Ich will keine Küsse, ich will Kills. :o)

Thats who I thought should have got the part. Everything else looks pretty spot on, though. Aside from a love story, you guys need to replay the games if you don't remember the "hitman with a heart of gold" plot running through it all. Or at least a heart of vengence.
Well, if could be worse, I suppose. I remember hearing rumors that Vin Diesel was being cast as Agent 47 for The Hitman movie.
And I just have to say, if you had slapped some Rock riffs in there and a WWF films logo at the end, Ol' Jack would have completely ignored it.

1. As said, Olyphant doesn't look like 47.
2. What the hell? 47 is a stone cold killer, not a man trying to save the world/deliver us from evil, he has no conscience.
3. Explosions? Seriously, it's all about the stealth kill.
4. Biggest thing that irked me: The twin glocks at the end, they're supposed to be hardballer .45 ACPs!

Fuck you Hollywood, if you can't make a movie that's true to the original, don't make it.
There go my hopes of there ever being a GOOD movie based on a video game.
