Personally, I dunno. The original Hitman formula peaked at Blood Money and I figure the options are "more of the same" or "something real different". Of course, this *isn't* real different.
I love the Hitman series but I honestly think it NEEDS to borrow from outside games to move on with the times. I agree that it needs a change after 4 games of the same mechanics.
All in all this trailer looked like, well, Hitman. It didn't seem as too much of a departure but it's a short trailer.
I like what I see, but whether I get really excited will depend on further gameplay. I am cautiously optimistic.
it looks like how Assassins Creed should be
the only way to have hitman multiplayer work is if it was a large level with 1-3 different targets that you are randomly assigned at the start of each match. start in random locations.
the hitman to kill their target and escape wins. if your target is killed by another hitman, either kill that hitman or a different target and escape for 2nd and 3rd places. higher placed, more money for equipment on next mission. can still have npc's and random people to kill and hide/use as disguises etc. same normal hitman game play. something like that.
hopefully this will be a mission based choose your style of play like the old games.
and damn it i wish Deus Ex HR had a full 3rd person style like that.
didn't like the seeing the enemies pattern(instinct mode??) definitely makes the game easier.
the voice seems new though :\
i wish they released a Hitman Trilogy HD collection in celebration for this new game.
will try this for sure :P
Hitman needs some modern gameplay mechanics, for sure, but I've watched the full video, and it just looks like any other "cheap stealth" game out there. Duck to become invisible to imbecile enemies; press the "win" button to perfectly and silently execute a NPC in a room filled with guards that don't suspect anything, because they're all deaf and blind; climb walls and ceilings, because 47 is superhuman for no reason whatsoever and weights like a feather. And of course, follow the predetermined path, while struggling to convince yourself that what you do is totally your idea. It's all there. And of course, see every enemy in a location with a press of a button, but this time with a bonus ability to know exactly where they're heading, so now it's not necessary to think for yourself and take risks.
