After less than a year of waiting that felt like seven, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is finally coming to the PlayStation Network on November 25.
Capcom's John Diamonon is over at the PlayStation.Blog pimping it out, and also dropping some pretty cool news on an exclusive for PlayStation 3 owners. It seems that Capcom got a bunch of hip-hop artists to create original tracks inspired by Street Fighter, and will be releasing it as an exclusive "Street Fighter Underground Remix" soundtrack on PSN. Artists include Redman, Hieroglyphics, DJ Qbert, DJ Toure, Zion I, Mistah F.A.B., and Oh No.
Diamonon also teases: "Oh yeah, we also have a “little” Street Fighter surprise coming later this holiday season. Let the speculation begin. Talk to you next week!"
OK, I'll speculate: I have it on good authority Street Fighter character skins for the PSN title Pain are on their way. Chun Li, Blanka, Ryu and Zangief will all be joining David Hasselhoff as digital rag dolls sometime in the near future.
That's my guess. But what do I know? Things, that's what. I know things.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Play a little Rakim or Jedi Mind Tricks with my VF5, please.
'Dance'(using it VERY loosely) Techno, and even drum and bass fit fighters much better.
The tekken series proves this since every version since 3 has kick ass music. In fact number 3 was, and still is, known for it's incredible soundtrack. VF5 had decent music, albeit some cheesy rock.DOA had a lot of techno, it was okayish.
Rap with driving games really is awesome, and shooters.
But with fighter, sorry, really, but no.
Then again, it's only my opinion.
Rap and hip hop sucks balls.
Thanks for runing the good street fighter 2 music capcom by turning it into sucky ass hiphop!
I almost let the horrible street fighter 3 sound tracks slide, since you brought out the Bionic commando rearmed music but not now.
Street fighter 2 was the last time street fighter 2 had any good music nice job there letting some dudes ruin it again.
...Mistah FAB? Not so much.
Though, I'm pretty interested in this by those first three artists alone.
I'm personally a huge fan of rock/hip-hop/rap hybrids. Stuff like Gorillaz is orgasmic for me. Also check out Q-Unit if you are at all a fan of Queen and/or 50 Cent...at least check it out for Queen :)
But this sounds like it's worth a listen, even if just for a few laughs.
Jose the Bronx Rican is a talented guy. Maybe there was a push of "go-getter" attention there. And this RMX album could be something special. (maybe there might not even be lyrics in a few of these songs?)
And bring the bass track!
