High Voltage will have new 'jaw-dropping' property at E3 photo

High Voltage Software isn’t known for turning down the hyperbole a notch. The studio responsible for Wii-exclusive FPS The Conduit are aiming to shock at E3 by unveiling a new property that they’re sure will push the bounds of, uh, something.

"I won't say much about our new property until we unveil it at E3,” High Voltage’s Chief creative officer, Eric Nofsinger said in a press release. “But I can guarantee that we are continuing to push our technology to the absolute limit in order to deliver experiences that are beyond jaw-dropping."

In addition to bringing a “beyond jaw-dropping” unveil, the studio will have The Conduit in tow at E3.

Pre-E3 announcement of an announcement, guys. Are your loins tingling? What do you think High Voltage has up their sleeves?

It's literally a jaw-dropping game for Wii. You waggle to control the jaw.

Pokemon MMO or Planetside Wii would drop my jaw from High Voltage.

Just sayin'

I dunno, I'm still a little skeptical of High Voltage. Believe me, I would love to take them at their word on this stuff, but they really haven't produced anything to make me trust them that deeply. If The Conduit delivers, then they'll have earned my trust, but not a moment before.

Shadow of the Colossus for the Wii with extremely good graphics and using the motionplus for using your sword and aiming your bow with the pointer.

I wonder if they have an RTS planned. FPS and RTS are the major genres that PC elitists get all huffy about. I'm curious if Wiimote control could replicate mouse control for an RTS, but then I think the main limitation of consoles in RTS games is a lack of keyboard...

I have nothing against High Voltage as I really don't know anything about them or their track record, but I'm thinking this "new property" must be for PS3/360.

I know it sounds kind of harsh, but I think it's physically impossible to make a "jaw-dropping" game for the Wii. Or at least it'd be impossible to make a preview video to be jaw-dropping for a Wii game.

@Dex, it couldn't, any TRUE RTS player uses the keyboard most of the time </huff>

I won't start listening till it's pants dropping...jaw-dropping is just not good enough for the likes of me.

@ various people talking about RTS games on the Wii.

You're aware that the Wii supports several USB keyboards, no?

As for High Voltage, the only thing they can do to gain my attention is create a game with an actual art style. I'm not saying The Conduit is going to be a bad game, I'm just not sure how I feel about shooting moving mannequins.

I say an RTS on the Wii would be great so long as the developer has the balls to come out and say "Yeah, fuck the keyboard. It's a wall RTS elitests us to keep out anybody not willing to waste their lives remembering shortkeys for shit that is in no way productive. This puts more emphasis on strategy and less on remembering which of your function keys selects your backup."
