Acquire, the folks behind Way of the Samurai, the Badman/My Lord titles and the Tenchu series (before it started sucking), have been feeling a little indecisive and want you, the all-powerful customer, to help them out a bit.
They've got a poll up on this site with a list of genres they're considering, and want you to vote. Choices include "Samurai Western" (likely a sequel to their ill-fated Samurai Western spinoff game), "God", "Zombie Game", and "Ninja Game".
That "Ninja Game" option sounds promising, as they never actually released Shinobido: Way of the Ninja - the game they made after they lost the Tenchu license to From Software - in North America. A game like that, with modern stealth gameplay and the same sense of humor as the Way of the Samurai games, would be pretty awesome.
And sorry, there's no write-in option, so you can't be an asshole and vote for "A Good Game". Jerks.
the robot wears a cowboy hat after finding one and remembering his human friend/owner wore one. i would aim for some very emotional stuff in it, like the robot going to the grave of its friend/owner and putting flowers down to pay respects.
the game would only have dialog in the very beginning scenes as way of flashbacks and maybe the very last scene to help recap everything before the destruction of man.
it would make for an awesome movie too! i really should pitch these hairbrained ideas to hollywood or some game company but i don't have the slightest idea of going about it, lol.
With my luck, they'd take that to mean a game involving a reanimated cowboy samurai ninja deity. Actually, now that I think about that...
More Samurai Western then. I did like the first one, even if it had bad guys with tommy guns for some reason.
Thhe fact that no one has made a proper Bushido Blade in the motion control era hurts my soul.
To be honest, the only Tenchu game that's engaged my interest since 2 was the XBLA offering. It really, really needs a fresh coat of re-the-fuck-design from the ground up.
