random questions eh...
should I dump my girlfriend (of nearly four years who is also a best mate too) and go off with the hot Asian girl that I pulled last night?
This is a question thats been mulling around in my mind for a while and I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. Portal, in my mind, was the creation of a new genre; a first person puzzle game. Although various first person games have had puzzles in them, the entirety of the game was never focused on it. With portal's success, why is it that developers are not creating games with similar designs? Its not to say that I want developers to rush out a bunch of shit, but I'm curious as to why more people have not taken to this genre with so much untapped potential. In this same vein, do you consider Mirror's Edge to be a furthering of the genre? Thanks for your time.

Do like it when games let you make your own fun (like LittleBigPlanet) it is good in the fact you can have endless possibilities but if your not feeling creative you can't really play, your thoughts?
Nowadays it seems people hate games like GTA IV for being too realistic and just want fun are we eventually going to get to time where all games are really fake and not a very good story just to have very fun gameplay?
When game makers take ideas from each other (Saints Row to GTA:SA) people just let it slide but if you plagiarize in school your paper is a fail why is in okay in the gaming industry?

I can just about cope with consoles having their own DLC, but what's the point in consoles having an exclusive Demo? Tomb Raider for example only has a demo for the 360.
Is it not quite dickish for MS to pay for some gamers to not get a demo? how does it help their sales?

I was going to buy a DSi when I go to Japan in April, but sinse we find out today that the new DSi has region locking, I'm not so sure I still want to get one. I won't be able to play all of my favourite Japanese games,(rhytm tengoku gold). in what ways does this change your opinions on Nintendo? Do you still-if ever- want to buy a DSi, and why does Nintendo hate us?
I don't know about you guys but regardless if they just Combos with crazy flavoring but I really want to try those gamergrub things.
Of course I wouldn't pay for them. I would wait till some small child buys them and then jump him outside the store.

garison already hit on this but I had a little to add. So DSi is region locked as he said, they're also taking out the GBA slot, and I think I recall Jim saying the battery life would be worse. Does the fact that it has a camera and an SD slot make up for everything? And how long do you think it will take people to hack the DSi through said SD slot and make the fact that it is region locked irrelevant?

Also, are there any games which give you a feeling of nostalgia that aren't necessarily retro? Maybe not a nostalgia for the actual place and time you played the game in, but for the game world itself? Hopefully that makes at least some sense.

What do you guys think about the Rock Band merchandise store? Do you think people will really spend money on making posters,shirts,buttons, etc of their fictional band? I thought the figures were a great idea. Until I saw the price. 69.00 for a 6 inch figure? I wonder if they realize that thats more than the price of the game.
Do you think this is something more companies should start offering though at an actual reasonable price? With the amount of games that allow people to customize their characters, this could become pretty popular. Can you imagine what people would pay for a customized plushy of their in game sackboy?
