Two Burch siblings. One crappy microphone. Sixty minutes of rambling, oft-incoherent musings on sexism and gaming. Welcome to the official podcast from the creators and stars of Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'.
This being the first-ever episode of the Hey Ash, Whatcha Podcast (alternate titles: Hey Ash, Whatcha Podcastin', the HAWPcast, etc), two things are for certain: firstly, that it will be much more awkwardly structured than later episodes, and secondly, that the existence of later episodes isn't really a certainty.
The show's future is pretty much entirely dependent on whether you lot enjoy it or not. Apologies for the horrendous audio and shaky iTunes availability, and all that -- we'll work out the kinks soon enough.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
When it worked, it was really enjoyable and Anthony just seemed less abrasive when discussing stuff with his sister than with the guys on Podtoid. It's also nice to hear Ash being herself than her usual whacked out alter-ego too. They got a good rapport going on (well, obviously being siblings and all).
I'm willing to here more, but they should have tried again another time and kept this as some kind of un-aired pilot.
I might be wearing the Captain Obvious cape. But as it is, the whole industry is based on reputation. A studio will not hire a guy that even just one person has something to say about. It is a mutual understanding between all participants in the industry that you do not want to mess up someones whole career and future.
"AWAY!"
*Swoosh*
This makes you seem like a likable person though Anthony, it's a good career move. Seriously though, I like it.
METAL GEAR
By the way Anthony, you should play Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga on the GBA. It is one of the funniest games I have ever played, mainly because of Fawful. These are two of his best lines:
"I am the great Cackletta's most best pupil, who is named Fawful! I am here, laughing at you! If you are giving us the chase, just to get your silly princess's voice, then you are idiots of foolishness! Princess Peach's sweet voice will soon be the bread that makes the sandwich of Cackletta's desires! And this battle shall be the delicious mustard on that bread! The mustard of your doom!"
and the best one:
"Your lives that I spit on are now but a caricature of a cartoon drawn by a kid who is stupid!"
Will listen again.
(only if Ash get a headset)
DO YOU HEAR OUR COLLECTIVE DISMAYS!?!?
Ash: OM NOM MICROPHONE!
<whole podcast is above unless you listen through headphones>
Oh, and just in case anyone hasn't mentioned it yet, I think Ash should but a headset. You're getting some feedback from not having a headset, and buying a headset can rectify this problem. Just eff why eye.
I enjoyed the video game related discussion, but I have to say the random stories about Anthony's awkwardness and teenage shenanigans were the highlight of this for me. Find a balance between the two somehow, because one or the other on their own would get boring, and I think we have ourselves a winner.
