Hey Ash, Whatcha Podcastin': a few decent stories photo

If you're not familiar with the moderately popular web series "Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'," we're not really surprised. Still you may enjoy it -- and if you do, you may also enjoy the official podcast from the show's creators. 

I'll be completely honest; this week's HAWPcast was not that great. I have a cold and Ash was tired, so our third episode has none of the groovy flow or conversational attitude of last week's; in fact, I ended up cutting out about half the show because it was full of conversations that never really went anywhere.

As a result, this week's episode is less than thirty minutes long, but (hopefully) packed with enough decent stories to prevent you giving up on the podcast altogether.

Hey Anthony.

Listened last week and i'm just wondering if you got round to watching 500 Days of Summer yet?

You seemed to shrug it off when Ashley mentioned it which kinda annoyed me as you didn't really give a justifiable reason (as you would normally do). I myself think it's a fantastic film and easily one of the best this year.

The directing is good and the acting (especially that from 10 Things actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is mesmerising. It's a fantastic story about self discovery and the human condition. Very much reminds me of a John Hughes film and you, and anyone with a slight interest in cinema, would be a fool to miss it!
It may seem like a typical 'emo' (as you put it) romcom but is far from it. The film escapes all of the genre's horrific trapping and excels at being fresh and interesting.

Summery: Good Film, Go See

I can imagine it being shot on 35 mm film, in black and white, and the cookies being chocolate chip with M&Ms in them, and the M&Ms are the only thing with colour

just a suggestion, talk as little about video game news as you can in the HAWPcast. i listen to several game podcasts, and read most of the major blogs for that. your Blockbuster stories are about 1000 times more interesting than hearing about the new releases for the millionth time.

I too am curious to hear what you think of 500 days of summer. Personally, I thought it was the poster child for souless corporate made "indi" movies with annoying children who speak like adults, and adults who live like manchildren or womanchildren.

yes this is what the podcast should be. I am the only guy in the world I know who watches dvd commentaries. I love hearing the behind the scences stuff, and brainstorming sessions, that create the show I love. HAWP FTW!
