I will be as honest as humanly possible: this episode of HAWP isn't funny, or action-packed, or even particularly interesting to the average viewer.

Ash and I were going to film a wacky, costume-filled recreation of our favorite videogaming moments with our dad, until we realized they aren't actually that funny to anyone but us In fact, I tell you this only to explain why Ash is wearing a tie and a moustache.

Rather than going the zany route, this week's HAWP is sort of straightfaced and sentimental. If you wanted to check out one of the funnier, zanier, classix, I would not blame you. A digg button for the Ikaruga episode is embedded below, in case you're into that sort of thing.

Awesome dad is awesome. My dad does the same thing when he plays Galaga. Also, mayhaps a blooper reel? I want to see those clips you didn't think were funny.

I was happy with this video until the end.

"Ok, say Metal Gear"

"METAL GEAR"

I went from just happy to laughing my ass off, hilarious. Patch and all, lol.

And, I agree with brecksher, let's see some blooper reels.

I was going to come in here and make some half-serious comment about you guys already jumping the shark, but then I saw the ending. Brilliant. :D

I sometimes lean into my games for that extra momentum... does that make me old or something?

I totally used to lean and sometimes even kick when playing Super Mario Bros. for the NES.

Good times. One of the first real memories I have of playing video games was playing Super Mario and Duck Hunt. My dad would take me and my brother with him to a friend of his's house (they were all a little above college age at the time) who had a NES and they'd let me play Mario all the time and watch. Fun memories.

Very sweet. My parents never played video games, but they did indulge my brother and me and buying us an NES way back when. Video games are indelible intertwined in the deep relationship I have with both my brother and sister.

I probably wouldn't have played through Dragon Warrior if it weren't for the fact that my dad helped me play through it. Which in turn means that I probably wouldn't have played through Dragon Quest VIII, which is one of my favorite RPGs ever...

Damn you Rev, for making me get all sentimental!

Very sweet. I was slightly disappointed that this wasn't a wacky costume-filled episode, but it was nice of you to dedicate a video to your dad.

Also, the ending part was hilarious. XD

Best to get the "boring" material out of the way early on, while you still have the momentum of the 3 previously awesome vids.

Video went sharply downhill once the talking started and the uncomfortable dad was no longer on camera. Improved when uncomfortable dad appears at the end.

I haven't figured out...Do you guys still live at home mooching off the folks or do you go to your parent's house to shoot these?

That was fantastic, and your dad seems to be an utterly sterling chap. :)

Oh, and regardless of previous comments, that outfit was snappy as hell. I'd personally kill for an old-school TMNT t-shirt and Batman pyjamas.

Another fine installment!

My dad used to do the same thing with Super Mario where he would try to help Mario jump by thrashing the controller straight up in the air. He was more of a Minesweeper guy and I could never come close to his record time.

Keep these videos coming.
