After a month or so of keeping our fans (both of them) in suspense, I'm more than pleased to announce... HAWP IS BACK! We're now being hosted at GameTrailers, and you can see the newest and Braid-est episode here. Though you might initially scoff at having to go to a different Web site to fulfill your trimonthly dose of Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin, know this: our videos, supported by the Herculean servers at GameTrailers, are now being shown in full HD. Every pockmark, every inch of stubble, and every creepily bugged-out Ashly stare will henceforth be available in eye-popping high definition. HAWP is back, and more highly defined than ever. Tell your friends. |

I'm lovin the HD, and I'm not gonna lie, the rating threw me off a bit. Its an anomaly and you should just be proud of this killer (no pun intended) episode.

I'm going to repost what I said in the other thread.
I didn't like it, and I bloody love HAWP. I see what you were trying to do but it didn't work. It had nothing to do with Braid, it just used the idea of time control, which is not a Braid-exclusive theme. You should have included elements of Braid in the game, such as the green outline for persistent objects and so on.
I can't really suggest that many ideas for change because it is what it is, I would have just done it differently. I think I would have made it so that Ashley was calling Anthony's Foetus the princess, which would have given way to the phrase "Sorry, but your Princess/Foetus is in another womb". Also, when Ash tried to touch Anthony, he detonates.
Alternatively, you could parody this episode by doing another Braid-themed video and use it to "undo" this one.
It sounds kinda weak right now because it's unrefined. I just feel there was a lot more potential with that joke. It's like thinking with portals; there are millions of possibilities. Overall, not the best introduction to Gametrailers, IMO.

Rev, I know you want to try to turn HAWP into something like a franchise, or whatever you want to call it, but I really don't see it happening this way. There is not a single video site on the internet that isn't filled to the brim with morons. You should just keep making them for Destructoid and let it take off on its own, because I really don't see you successfully forcing this into fruition. The nature of the beast prohibits it, it would seem.

The bit where Anthony is like "goddamit" when eating his cereal, funny funny stuff. Rest of the video? Like UglyPhil said, wtf did this have to do with braid? The videos are really starting to turn into just "Watch my family" videos. I'm guessing the next one won't even be about video games at all. The first few were good but between this and the craptacular Batman one, maybe HAWP has had its run.
why do this destructoid? youre far too cool for gametrailers, the community is full of too many ballsacs and fanboys and so, naturally, they cant understand how much of a legend you guys are. Its like taking the Mona Lisa along to a Lethal Bizzle gig.
I agree with UglyPhil ("not the best introduction to Gametrailers"), but the video still made me laugh and I look forward to the next one!

Like I said, poor connection between the two. This was more of a parody of Back to the Future or Terminator than Braid.
Glad to see your back, I'm not happy to see you on gametrailers. Remember if game trailers ever screws you over (which they will) you have a place here.
Also, my thoughts on the episode, irregardless of the move to GT:
To be honest, this episode sucked, the conenction to Braid is understandable to anyone who knows about the game but as TurboSpaz said, the connection wasn't strong at all. Braid wasn't very relevant to the episode.
Hopefully this is just one low point in what has been a series of highs.
Glad to see the show is back.
I love HAWP but this was definitely my least favorite, especially as a followup to the stellar batman one.

Sorry Anthony, it's just not as good as the others. I doubt you've already jumped the shark (or is it 'nuked the fridge' now?) but this one was pretty weak. It's clearly not just the change of community, because the other HAWP videos on GT are pretty highly rated. Whatever, you'll recover.

Hilarious episode. Not very Braid related but still hilarious.
I don't mind at all that HAWP is being posted on Gametrailers, if Anthony and Ashley want to make a bit of money out of it then why not, more power to them. However it's those bastards on Gametrailers who don't even know what it is but are more than ready to prejudice against it that piss me off. If you don't like it then shut the fuck up and go back to watching game trailers or whatever it is you do on that site - it's not for you cunts anyway, it's for us at Destructoid.
