It's embarrassing how Gametrailers is falling back to flaming again once there's a joke they don't understand.

Good work on that episode, I like how awkward and yet fascinating it is.

Alright Anthony you've convinced me with your subliminal advertising.

I'll go see Watchmen.

And beat my gf.

Two unexpected reactions to this episode:

-That people found it legitimately kind of disturbing and/or awkward. That's definitely my fault more than anything -- I'm sure there's a way I could have edited it to be less abjectly horrifying -- but it probably reflects poorly on me that the beating scene makes me laugh a little.

-That people assumed I was promoting Watchmen rather than awkwardly trying to cover up the dated-ness of an episode we filmed when TDK was still in theatres.

This was the first HAWP I ever watched with my girlfriend.

I laughed at the end.

I did not get sex last night.

Yaaaa, that one was all kinds of awkward. Should have had some spliced footage of Ashley with the belt mixed into the beating scene or something. Some shots of their eyes... gone for the super creepy factor that just turned out odd.

I will not apologize for laughing, and neither should you. Cover ups were hilarious and so was the result, all this PC shit pisses me off when something is meant to be a skit/joke. The only thing that would've made it even more hilarious is if he broke down crying at the end and shot himself.

Good day, sir! ...and keep up the good shit.

Yea, little dark there. Usually a fan but that just sort of rang as over the line. But each his own.

@ Anth I got what you where doing with "watchmen", that was funny. But the beating at the end was not my cup of tea. It just came out of no where and I really didn't find it that funny. I was on the more disturbing side. But I still like this series.

I just watched a bunch of HAWP's, and they are totally awesome. You guys rock.

Random notes:
Ash makes a very good (read: funny) Joker.
I'm glad somebody called Person 3, and its detractors all at once.
Family violence has never been funnier!
You two are way funnier than the Mega64 folks.

Hahaha! That was awesome! Especially loved Anthony trying to cover up how old some of this episode was filmed in the most lazy way possible.

Also a painfully relatable subject in a more serious sense. Let's face it, as much as we don't want to admit it... some son of a bitch is higher in your friend list on Geometry Wars 2 and they make sure you're well aware of it.

It was disturbing because just before he beats the shit out of her, he apologises for telling her to shut up. That is fucking excellent scripting, and part of the reason why I loved this episode. However, I wish you had re-shot that sequence instead of an awkward cover-up.

@Qraze
He's not revelling in being under Ash's control. :p

I think the solid camera work (is this too low brow to be called "cinematography?") made the beating more disturbing than intended.

still, the point was received and I lol'd. Because leaderboard competition is serious business.

Reminds me of the time I got into an argument with an ex for avoiding her for 3 days when the Wii came out. I NEEDED to play Zelda. She said I'd probably never play the Wii after that, and it would only end in dissapointment.

yeah, she may have been right but I'll be damned if I ever told her that.

I got the late covered uppiness. But only because I know Rev would never openly support something. That and Geometry Wars 2 came out quite awhile ago.

I found it relatable. Right down to the spousal abuse and weird voices telling me to go see Watchmen.

The posters on Gametrailers are having a legitimate discussion about spousal abuse.

That itself is funnier than the HAWP.

Good job, Rev. I hope this was a social experiment, because it gets an A+.

LOL, I think this is the only episode that didn't make me laugh at all, and everything it caused it making me laugh harder than any HAWP yet. The fucksticks on GT are having a serious discussion about abuse. That is fucking hilarious. The way you covered up the dated-ness was hilarious as well.

BRAVO

I got the dated part immediately, but it was hard to laugh at the spousal beating thing.

I get why it should be funny, but it was fairly poorly acted out and didn't exactly work as a punchline, at least not the way it was edited (which was poorly, as if I don't know that when the shots change, he's flailing the belt all over the floor with no one there).

Still. It's a nice try.

I think it was the sound effect of the belt hitting whatever it was - a couch cushion or something - that made it disturbing for me. A nice solid "THWACK." Fine work.

That was different from normal and just a tad dark but I see what you were going for and enjoyed it. If it had been shot/edited a tad better i think it would have worked amazingly, but you did a great job in the end :).

I think that the "Watchmen" interruptions made it difficult to get into the episode, which in this case makes the difference on taking the last part as hilarious or not cool at all.

Not saying you can't make jokes about domestic violence. Just saying you should make them good. This was lazy and ugly. And you complain about Rockstar's stupid dick jokes. Poor form.

I'll be the first to admit that I think women getting beaten is extremely hilarious, but this HAWP did nothing for me.

@Jumbo

I kind of agree with that statement. I was just less of a dick about it.

The last episode sucked but this one was hilarious. I love the dark humor in this one.

The previous episode didn't work for me because the rickroll type of joke was used but the outcome was expected.
