HeroClix Online is bringing the Marvel tabletop game to our wonderful digital realm. The focus is on action as players recreate classic Marvel battles or play out their own, "what ifs." Players of the tabletop game should be pleased to hear that the online version keeps the original game's features and if you could do something with the physical version you can recreate it in this one.
Despite being intrigued, I've never really gotten into tabletop gaming. But I do love me some superhero fights, so this might suit me rather well. As long as I can beat up Cyclops, I'll be a happy chap.
The game features:
3-D virtual table top maps
Up to 64 players to a single tournament
Join public matches and tournaments or create your own
Locate challenging opponents to test your skills
Earn rewards for your feats
Test forces and combinations before battling human opponents
Will have global leaderboards and sportmanship reputation
Did you guys change springboard again yesterday/today? Because none of the videos are playing in TE for me, but they play copy when I switch my android browser to desktop mode. Sorry to derail the article.
Did Heroclix ever get a decent set of rules? Or anyone involved in the figure/power design aspect who actually put any time at all in considering how two powers might interact? I haven't played since the game's early days (I quit a bit after the DC sets started), and the rules and game design was pretty slapdash in those days.
Yes they did. I played and judged in tournaments until its death while in the possession of Topps. They actually did a thorough job of unifying the rules through the wording. Though with every knew mechanic it brought about 20 more questions.
@Gnarly: I could maybe see them adding horrorclix to this, but somehow Marvel & DC mixing doesn't sound like it'll happen in this game. He'll, some REAL tourneys don't allow it.
Hopefully anyone interested has a good connection and system...I tried out Heroclix Online. No one was playing, and even those of us that did struggled with a slow, sloppy interface. Plus you pretty much have to buy anyone that isn't the basic Fantastic Four and Dr.Doom. The virtual figures actually cost more than the real ones!
Outside the dedicated and nebulously legal emulation scene, PC hasn't received much virtual pinball love lately despite being its birthplace. Zen Studios is changing this by bringing Pinball FX 2 to Steam on May 10. The titl...
