The last time we really saw anything of SCE London's Eight Days was in 2006 with a trailer. Last week heard really heard about it, the game was "on hold," potentially even canned completely.
Whether or not we'll ever see the game in a final shipped state is unknown, but some leaked footage at least gives us an idea of what we could have expected. Alleged pre-production footage of the game has appeared on YouTube, and shows off a third-person shooter that relies heavily on cover and said cover getting blown to bits.
It looks okay, if not a bit generic. But as a fan of third-person action, I wouldn't mind playing something like Eight Days on my PlayStation 3. Maybe something in the jungle, or say, a desert. With a handsome, witty treasure hunter or something. One can dream.
Considering FPS basically outnumbers TPS 4 to 1, I'd be happy if this game saw the light of day. After what Zipper did to its' fans with Socom 4 I'd say true TPS fans are dying for a new game.
@Nick Chester
You mean MGS4? Snake's father once traversed in the jungle, and in MGS4, you start at a town in the desert. Plus, Old Snake is hot, especially that skin-tight camo suit.
... Or are you talking about another game? I don't know any other TPS game that has jungles, deserts, handsome-witty characters, plus two hot girls, exclusively for the PS3. If only Indiana Jones and Lara Croft had a son, if only...

Oh man, REALLY? I would love to play as Billy Ray Cyrus in his wild days, back when he was out partying all day and night, killing mofos, and writing death metal songs, before he eventually calmed down, became a hillbilly, wrote country music folk songs, and produced the abomination known today as the "Tweens", aka Hannah Montana.
That character looks horrible. The rest has potential. Maybe Snake killed him because he was stealing his mullet style and taking all the hot retirement ladies from him.
That looked like fun. Nice destruction effects, especially that helicopter part at the end!
Too bad that music was shit lol.
It could make for a fun buddy-cop story, kinda lethal weapon-like.
This looks pretty damn cool, really hope it does see light of day as the cover animations look a lot more natural than the magic wall sticking of many TPSes, add that with destruction and 2 characters that look like they have more promise in them than Kane and lynch and yeah, would be a shame for the project to not be done
I'd play it plus I like the Getaway series(well two games) so I trust the dev to some degree. The animations look nice, especially the crouching along the wall
I wouldn't mind another Getaway, hope its on hold and not "canceled"
It'll very likely never come out. Sony London is now working on Vita and Move games. It's a shame really, but Sony thought that Uncharted was all the TPS they needed at the time.
After all this time, the graphics just wouldn't hold up. You'd be getting a Duke Nukem like game from a visual perspective and it just wouldn't be able to compete well in a market that has Uncharted and Gears leading the market.
The fluid animations are much improved in this video, even though they looked great in the long-ago released vids. The shooter elements definitely seem more appealing and enjoyable than uncharted's.
My brother bought this last week, bu it was so bad he returned it.
This game is just another bad port of some game, and when Sony first announced it back in 2001 it was just a 5$ psn game, then they wanted full price, this is a FACT, everybody knows this.....
If the game had come out on time, like four or so years ago, it would have been really impressive. Now, we have games that do the same thing. I'm not saying it wouldn't have been good, I'm just saying it missed its optimal window.

"We really fucked up this time."
