We've seen chocobos. We've seen cactuars. Now we need a glimpse of that other Final Fantasy staple, the obligatory Cid. This week's Shonen Jump magazine delivers the goods, with a brand new Cid for Final Fantasy XIII. Check out the scan for more.
XIII's Cid Raines is a brigadier of some sort of military group, unconnected with the PSICOM regime that we already know about. He looks much younger than some of the other Cid's we've seen, and he also appears to possess a sword very similar to Lightning's, perhaps hinting at playable possibilities.
Final Fantasy XIII is just around the corner in Japan, with a March 9 2010 on the cards for we Westerners. I'm quite looking forward to it.

I've never been a big Final Fantasy fan, if you can't tell.
Each Cid is different.
Also if you want to get technical cid was playable in ff tactics and tactics advance
I like how he sacrificed his life and energy to care for the "granddaughter", Celes, he loved and raised.
Also like the villian Cid in XII
I also kinda like this guy. He sounds like Yuuichi Nakamura is his VA. Hells to the yes.
Still, I'd love if this Cid is playable. I'm a fan of the playable Cids (IV and VII). Not because they're playable per se (though it is always a plus), but they just tend to be better and more memorable characters.
He's not an engineer or scientist.
I don't count Thunder God Cid from Tactics though.
So I always kill him.
Oh, Cid Highwind (FF7) was pretty cool too. SHERA GET MY DAMN TEA. Ok fine, he's a wife beater... who can equip a mop, always hated that. Whatever, at least gets Flayer... eventually, which is better than Ultim- yeah I'm gonna shut up now.
