I was late to Criterion Games' Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit but ended up liking it a fair amount. Setting up traps and utterly decimating vehicles in the name of justice didn't grow old, although the times when you weren't playing as a cop did eventually wear thin. Need for Speed Rivalsseems to be along these same lines despite not being called Hot Pursuit 2. Cool.
EA has sent out a pair of videos for Rivals, one of the PlayStation 4 version (shown above), the other of the Xbox One version, included below. I'm positive I wouldn't have known this was "next-gen" footage without such labeling, but it's not like we're playing NFS for the visual fidelity.
