When you woke up this morning, you prayed to your God of choice that you'd visit Destructoid and have a silly amount of Dynasty Warriors 7 images to gawk at. Well, you're in motherfrigging luck, son! Here is a bunch of screens and CG artwork, as discovered on Koei Warriors.
The images show off a whole bunch of characters. Returning warriors include Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan, Zhen Ji, Lu Meng, Lu Xun, Zhou Tai, Da Qiao, Ling Tong, Zhao Yun, Xing Cai and Ma Chao. There are also some freshly revealed Jin characters, including a rather sinister Richard E. Grant lookalike in Zhuge Dan.
It's also worth noting that there appears to be two Xiahou Dun character models -- one with two eyes, and one with the eyepatch. Looks like Omega Force is actually putting some effort into the visuals this time, which is nice to see!
The character redesigns look great and some of the weapons are absurdly cool, but I'm a little dismayed at all the shoehorned female characters Koei insists on throwing in. When legitimate characters like Cheng Pu, Deng Ai, Yu Jin and many others are currently ignored, there's no excuse for Koei to invent fictional female characters that don't need to be there. Ah well.

God, too many games that I want to play for hours and hours upon hours.
BUt the game's looking great. I think these are the best-looking character designs the series has had since #3. Only things I'm not liking are Ling Tong (who didn't look great before anyway) and some of the female characters, who look a bit twee and limp-wristed, although Xing Cai and Zhen Ji look suitably badass. The two eye/one-eyed Xiahou Dun isn't actually that new though, they did it in Dynasty Warriors 2 as well.

I agree with you about the made-up female characters, Jim...they still haven't put Lady Wu in any of the games, and she was one of the coolest characters in the novel!
i know its bad and bad it is for me, hours after hours of leveling up these hollow shells of clichéd wanna-be-characters...the guilty pleasure of exterminating every enemy-officer on the field. and every one of them friggin archers if possible
