This game being exclusive to Japan really seems like it could be the swan song for Mistwalker and Sakaguchi. :(

I'd be really surprised if The Last Story didn't get a fan translation. The Fatal Frame 4 translation patch didn't even take that long to put together.

OMG we're never getting this game. Nintendo is lazy. Nintendo doesn't care about their fans. Nintendo hates puppies. Nintendo uses the 3DS launch as a reason to screw the hardcore gamer. Nintendo is for moms and babies. This should be on Xbox because xbox is awesomest. I'm giving my Wii away tomorrow.

@Holmes: Then you could add another reason to your list of reasons as to why Nintendo is out of touch. Reasons I agree with. ;) Seriously, this game looks great and I'm looking for a good RPG to help me recover from the disappointment of FF13. I don't hate that game I just... don't like it. Also, what games are coming out for the Wii in 2011? Skyward Sword and...? Nintendo is crazy-focused on the 3DS and I get that, but where's the Wii love? And for that matter, motion+ love? I haven't played any motion+ compatible games because there are very few of them.

Sakaguchi named Final Fantasy as such because he and Squaresoft thought that it would be their last game. Luckily it was not. Now he's naming this game The Last Story. Do we really think he's going to have the same kind of luck twice? I certainly hope so. Unfortunately Nintendo isn't letting me vote with my wallet.

No, they certainly do not. And the sad thing is, I don't think a show like that would survive on TV in this day and age. It's a new world out there filled with remakes and reality shows about women with husbands that have so much money that all they do is bicker with one another cause they have nothing better to do.

It's getting localised, "journalists" should know better than to expect a big game announcement to happen over e-mail from a random rep. Start worrying if there's nothing by E3 or something, not before, as this eurogamer "scoop" has no more credibility than vg247's last e-mail exchange with a random anonymus rep. Anyway, that video looks mighty impressive, the cavernous area was huge with tons of enemies and the part before that had pretty sweet water effects too. It's some of the best footage of the game yet, it looks so great and polished here. It kind of looks like a fantasy Mass Effect, except with an actually involving, deep, and fun combat system, and far more interesting art and design.

If Nintendo is too lazy to make this game to bring it to the West, well I will be lazy too and "import it"..and when I mean "import it" I mean down-*shots*

Also, the gathering demonstration was yesterday's video. Today's video is about the battle system, and shows a couple of (probably early) boss fights among other encounters. It's not as well done, but it's still cool and shows various abilities, spells, combinations, and stuff.

You might want to link to the official page where the videos can be found in great quality instead of just have the low quality youtube embeds though.
