Here is your almost-look at what the Aliens RPG looked like photo

It was a sad day when we heard that the Aliens RPG had been canceled, but now we're going to compound your sorrow by pointing you towards some concept art for the mysterious project.

After talking with Nick about the Dirty Harry game that could have been, and admittedly gazing at this image for far too long, I stumbled upon something interesting.

As it turns out, the portfolio for the 3D character artist contained another unreleased game, namely the Aliens RPG. Problem is, this section of his online resume is password protected, and only thumbnails of his work are viewable.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone could, I don't know, figure out the login info for the benefit of Aliens fans everywhere? Yeah, that sure would be a nice gesture. Perhaps a monetary reward would be in order? On second thought, I might be too broke for that.

Is there really enough aliens material to actually make an rpg? Best leave it as an action game or shooter.

Well.. I mean.. you can break up the Alien life-cycle into levels. Facehuggers would eventually become queens. I don't know what they would do for the things that you would fight, though. Colonial marines? Predator? Space truckers? Prisoners? "The Wayland Company" (which did experiments on the lovable critters in Resurrection)? It could be a coin toss off to pick the first set of enemies.
Gah. I think I love those creatures a little too much. (even if I am blasting the shit out of them with my M41A Pulse Rifle. 8-)
I would have bought the game just out of curiosity...

You know what? I kind of agree with you there. We're already getting 2 new Aliens games as it is.

I'm honestly not interested in the new AvP movie series. Those movies completely ruined the whole Aliens franchise for me.. I'm looking to the Alien-Alien Resurrection for material. (it looks like this game was as well after browsing over the thumbnails that Jim pointed out.) There's a Pulse Rifle thumbnail, an APC thumbnail, and a "walker" thumbnail. I think I can even see a piece of a Dropship.
Also:
There's a ton of literature covering the Aliens infesting countless worlds, as well as the USCM having encounters with them. How can you honestly say there's a lack of material O_o? I didn't see the newer AvP movie. I saw the first one and it was shit, so I avoid all games associated with those films. The earlier Alien films were pretty decent. So were the Dark Horse Comics. There's a assload of Aliens material to choose from. Whether it be you beef up your Marine, or your newly hatched chest burster, or even beefing up a predator to fight either of them would have been sufficient.

I guess that the newer movies are the framework for newer games.. so unfortunate. First Aliens: Colonial Marines gets canceled then this game that doesn't even get an announcement gets canceled... Yeah there have been a ton of Aliens games. But I think that only a couple of them did a decent job of accurately thrusting you into that universe.

I thirst for a better Aliens game.
I know I'm not the only one.
=P

Drach: Colonial marines isn't cancelled. Also the new Avp game isn't necessarily inspired by the god awful films, considering Rebellion did the Pc Avp title a few years back.

What's interesting about the site is that for each thumbnail you click, you can still read the description of the image. Pretty cool stuff, including female androids, Mark 2 APCs, magnetic door traps, etc.

Oh, and plus he's running an older version of Apache (1.3.41) which I think is not secure, but I don't really know.

Also, you can browse the files in all the directories (except the Aliens images)... not that that helps: http://www.kyewansung-3d.com/Images/

In addition, also, too, Aliens vs. Predator 2 had the best multiplayer team deathmatch ever until Team Fortress came around.
