Here is who you'll rock with when you rock with GH5 photo

Eager to find out what bands will be shipping with Guitar Hero 5? According to NME the headlining bands will include the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana, Blur, Gorillaz, Bob Dylan and a crap ton more that are listed after the jump. We already knew some of this before, but if you check out the entire list you may find plenty of bands to get very excited for.

Or not excited at all. DLC has kind of ruined a release list like this? A game launches with bands, but it will have more bands later, and if your favorite band isn't there then it's most likely coming or has already been released in a previous compatable game. So nice to see these bands, but little hard to get uber-excited.

If you are wondering who I'm a little excited for it has got to be Duran Duran.

(Thanks, twead87)

What, no more Mars Volta? How disappointing.

You know, the Rolling Stones have been curiously light in music game content given their immense discography. But still nothing jaw-dropping.

Nice! "Under Pressure" is gonna be in there.

I completely agree with you Matthew, about the advent of DLC making these announcementts almost pointless.... 70% of those bands/artists have already been featured in previous games. It's all getting a bit stupid now.

Just stop releasing new versions of the same fucking game, and ramp up the DLC.

"Sunny Day Real Estate" is one band, not two.

At least Guitar Hero games go down in price... unlike DLC.

@ends

I like the new releases as the new cheevos give me some additional incentive to keep playing my old content when guests aren't around.

Once you whip through the Endless Setlist on expert, there isn't just a ton left, challenge wise, in Rock Band.

Whoever formatted the list isn't very familiar with their crappy bands:

Vampire

Weekend TV

On The Radio

And there's more like that...

A lot of good bands, but will they be good songs from these bands? Regardless, they should drop the price on DLC a bit and release these like Rock Band is doing. I am tempted to pick this up though, if only because of the Gorillaz and the Dire Straits. Seriously, if that is Money For Nothing, this game will at least be worth the rental.

Best. Guitar Hero. Ever. The Bronx FTW! I really like the diversity this one offers. They were starting to go the right direction with World Tour, but they nailed it with this.

As much as I prefer Rock Band to Guitar Hero in every way imaginable, the inclusion of some of these bands (Kings of Leon! Eagles of Death Metal! Kaiser Chiefs!) definitely makes me excited. Still...don't think it's worth a $60 purchase.

Yes, you can easily say "no X? I'm disappointed," but you're missing the fact that this is an amazing setlist, just going off of band names. My complaint is that such an amazing list isn't being announced for Rock Band, since there's no official Rock Band 3 this year, but Harmonix has been rocking with their selections as of late, so I'm not too concerned.

I like about two of these bands. Mars Volta in there would make it an instant buy for me. I mean, they put Volta in World Tour but cut the song down from 12 minutes to 4 and removed the John Frusciante solo's.

I saw Iggy Pop. And Muse. And "Under Pressure". And a lot of other stuff too. Hopefully that Jimmy Eat World song's "Bleed American".

And yeah, as another person already said, though Rock Band is far superior in my eyes, I still like the looks of this list, and will definitely get this.

I'm just going to lay off Guitar Hero for another decade until they have released every track and band in existence, then I can buy it for a cheap price.
