I didn't care either way, but even Deathbattle didn't keep to limitations, the targeting system has always had the sidekick be the catalyst of it, Navi/tatel being the most obvious ones. So while I don't mind since both characters rule, I still call cheating on this one. :P

Completely insignificant, both characters are great and timeless, and just because one will win an imaginary fight on the internet doesn't mean you should get angry.

•Blonde pretty boy. Starts off as a Shinra soldier, gets inspiration from Zack, quits Shinra, joins Avalanche to stop evil. Is a giant dick for not giving Zack and Aerith (or Aeris for you purists) a Phoenix Down. LIkes cross dressing as a pretty lady :D
•Zack gives him a Buster Sword, ends up ditching it for the Ultima Weapon (you're a giant dick, Cloud!)
•Love interest - Aerith (you're a backstabber, Cloud!), and giant/HUGE/GIGANTIC titted FF7 Tifa (or still relatively giant sized AC Tifa)
•Main enemy - Sephiroth. One of the most well known badasses in gaming history (which has since declined when stupid fanboys/girls started drawing CloudXSephiroth gay images)
•Loses to Sora, a stupid boy who is gay for Riku and believes in the power of "Hearts"

Based on these facts, I'd say it's a CLOSE TIE. Link is almost perfect, but Cloud has Knights of The Rounds materia.

@Revenile - Link didn't need fairies to target in Wind Waker, Twilight Princess or Skyward Word.

This is worse than the Goku vs Superman thing as far as matchups. Favoritism vs analysis basically.

In a combat fight, I would have to say Cloud... Can't he summon Horrendous beasts of tremendous power (as Link sits there and does nothing until it is his turn)?

In any battle between an RPG Character and an Action/Adventure character, the RPG character will always win...^_^;

If the Kid Rad comic has taught me anything its that you should never underestimate an action adventure character.

It wasn't bad, but the animation was a little (read: a lot) stiff for me. Still, it was enojoyable. I just hope they either improve the animation or go back to the sprite videos like they did for Peach vs. Zelda and Raiden vs. Thor.

You just contradicted yourself just there. Cloud is turn based so he'd have the disadvantage because link would pummel his ass while he's waiting for his ATB bar to fill up. Not to mention most all of Cloud's "talent" requires it being equipped, Link could probably beat him to a pulp bare handed.
