I meet all of the reqs for recommended... except quad core. Damn, guess I should have gone with quad when I got my 3.2ghz dual core. So few PC games were really utilizing the dual core well when I bought it that I figure quad core games wouldn't even be an issue... then again this WAS like 3-4 years ago.
Wow. If my mobile Geforce GT 425M can run Deus Ex HR, with all graphics fidelity turned on (save High Shadows, and running on sub-par HD resolution of 1360x768), I reckon I'd be able to do the same for RAGE then.
Great optimization! Considering even the minimum requirements are orders of magnetite greater then console specs, there's no reason this won't look more than "medium quality graphics". I'm sure this will scale for any comp built in the last year or two.
Suh-weet. Looks like I'm locked in for running everything on full if those are the rec specs. They're a=surprisingly low, must be some good optimisation going on there.
@Stigmeyer: They have already stated that it would fit on one 360 disk so I don't expect them to be very large.
That's actually pretty low for a game so cutting edge. I will definitely need a better video card, but everything else is perfect.
Yeh figured it would be kinda low, as has been mentioned before its multiplatform. Not that I mind since the multiplatform games are -usually- the best optimized whereas PC devs figure that PC = shitty code = higher req specs = better PC game because it takes a better system to run it!

very surprising, I thought this would be the game to eat my rig for lunch, but it will be the other way around! then again this game was shown off in what 2007? I also don't get all the hate this game is generating, no one on dtoid seems to like it even though they have hardly played it. I'm getting it for cheap anyway, $42 on newegg with subscriber promo code, savings I could not pass up.
Recommended specs are always a low ball estimate. You know, so they don't scare off everyone and hopefully lull as many naive folks into thinking they can blow this game out of the water, or even get a decent FPS. Generally my rule of thumb is aim for twice to three times the recommended specs to actually play the game in the way it was designed to be played, not even necessarily maxed out either. I'll never forget the laughably low recommended specs of Tribes 2, only to take it home and find myself the new owner of an unplayable 50 dollar disc. If only that were an isolated case.

Well, I don't think this is good news. When we see a new game coming to PC requiring sow low specs it smells like a poor xbox port (again!). It's wait and see.
I don't think you can say it's an Xbox port if you listen to Carmack's speech at Quakecon, and some of the interviews around it. He talks incredibly intelligently about the difference between PC and Consoles, and mentions some conversations he's had with people making drivers. He also mentions several times that they've been seriously considering PC only DLC that takes full advantage of the system.
Im sorry but If you cant even get close to these specs in 2011 you have some serious issues if you consider yourself a pc gamer. These are very low specs and much lower specs than alot of other games released recently. A 5 year old PC should be able to handle this no sweat. Heck I got my 8800 around when Vista came about which was 2006 as far as I remember.
But as usual people claim they wont be able to run a game unless they absolutely destroy the system requirements with their rig. ie. running it at 1440p with 8xAA and 16xAF at 200fps.

It lools like only DX9 support, grrr a 8800 and 9800 are the same card just a die shrink from one to the other, the Max and Min are the same graphics card. Well the 9800 like 10% faster.
@InternetBatman Yeah, we have the same "promisses" with Crysis and Deus Ex and you know the rest of the story. Of course I would be really pleased if this game has a specific version for PC gamers. But the fashion is make cheaper ports, like Dead Island. Like I said, it's wait and see, and I would be the first to accept my mistaken preview.
I didn't expect it to be high. It's coming to OSX too after all. I'm not trying to imply anything negative by the way.
